On behalf of the Richmond Footy Club,Ty Vickery is a Hawk with Richmond getting a middle second round pick as compensation, likely to be around pick 26. Vickery agreed to a 2 year deal which Richmond chose not to match. I'll be honest, i don't like the guy at all, but with Ceglar out for pretty much the whole year and the uncertainty around Roughy's potential comeback mid year, we were in desperate need of a tall forward/ruckman. Hawks really missed Roughy this year. Vickery doesn't need to be a star, just support McEvoy by competing in the ruck at times and support Gunston in the forward 50 by bringing the ball to ground and letting our smalls do their thing. We needed someone like Vickery and lets be honest, not too many ready made tall ruck/forwards available right now.
On behalf of the Richmond Footy Club,
Thank you
Yea, but Burgoyne and Lake were pretty good players before Hawthorn...I absolutely get that, if i was a Richmond supporter id be saying the same thing. But Hawthorn is not Richmond, and we need a ready made tall ruck/forward to plug that hole. Clarko and the team know what their doing, Burgoyne and Lake are 2 perfect examples.

As for this one...
Burgoyne was said to have dodgy knees and Lake was a big risk given his form and temper before he came across. But both at their best were very good players, but could they both ever recapture that best was the question. Hawthorn have a habit of getting the best out of players lately. Vickery at his best was extremely serviceable without being a star, if we can get 2 consistent years id be happy, consistency is the key word here. Guess time will tell.
I like Vickery. Takes a good clunk and he's a decent kick. He has plenty to offer. Hopefully he has a couple of injury free years.
Hopefully Tom Mitchell is in the brown and gold by the end of the week. Our first pick should be enough to get him. We need to make that happen ASAP. He is a genuine star.
Think the O'Meara trade will take a little longer. Marcus Ashcroft said the "ball was in our court". I'd hate for us to part trade Sicily to get O'Meara.
Same , Mitchell number 1 priority. Getting O'Meara aswell would be great. But getting rid of a young player like Sicily to get Jaeger would be a mistake. Big call but I reckon Sicily could be as good as Brereton.Mitchell I want, O'Meara not so much. He's risky and probably hasn't got the runs on the board yet to warrant the coin he'll be asking.
A couple of kebabs as compensation would've been fine by me.Lol tigers get a 26 for vickery and north 32 for wells hahah daylight robbery by the Tigers
Sam Mitchell could be going to West Coast, fair to say i did not see that coming and would be devastated if it happens.
Well the Eagles have already said our first round pick is off the table. Sounds like a third rounder is the most likely.Curious who or what they trade for him.
Explains their social media posts the other day that came out of the blue, affirming that Darling is going nowhere.
Yeah, there was definitely talk about that. I think I read somewhere a day or two ago that he was going to re-sign, I'm not too sure though.Tom Lamb?
There was word a little while ago he wanted to head back east. Was a high pick but he's not quite working out for West Coast.
Remember that he did win Hawthorn's b&f this year, I'd say he could play on til he's like 37We'll take good care of him
In all seriousness, I was quite shocked to see that news. Would imagine he only has a season or two in him, but would offer invaluable help to young guys like Duggan, Nelson, Partington and even our more experienced guys like Shuey and Gaff.
