I have now bought a couple of boxes - one from tapnplay and there have been good supplies so far in Gisborne and Woodend in Vic central highlands- and it is clear I am going to struggle to get sets of the parallel cards. I have decided to settle on just getting the Scorchers cards. Would anyone like to trade silver for silver, gold for gold and superstar for superstar? I have a Brett Lee superstar to swap for a Brad Hogg superstar. I have Gold Aaron Finch (ODI) Glenn Xavier Doherty (ODI) Steve Smith (ODI), James Faulkner (test) Alex Blackwell, Jess Cameron and Nicole Bolton (Stars) , Glenn Maxwell (Stars) James Pattinson (renegades) Dirk Nannes (Thunder) Michael Lumb (sixers) Alex Keath (Stars) to swap for any Gold Scorchers other than Brad Hogg. I have Silver Aaron Finch (ODI), Shane Watson (ODI), Dave Warner (Test) Peter Siddle (Test) James Pattinson (Test) Brad Haddin (Test), Rene Farrell (Stars) Erin Osborne (Stars), Steve Smith (T20) Aaron Finch (T20), Christian Burns Pierson (Heat), Doherty Sammy Gulbis (Hobart), Pattinson Ahmed Nevill (Renegades), Quiney (Stars), Haddin Henriques (Sixers), Sandhu (thunder) to swap for silver Scorchers other than Mitch Marsh (BBL) Michael Klinger, Ashton Turner and Joel Paris.
TNP should use this pic to promote TNP 2015/16 - boxes, packets, posters AND a card.
IMHO, it encapsulates everything great about the women's game - competitive, smart, sexy, confident, bold. Along with Elyse Perry, Alyssa Healy and Meg Lanning, the Southern Stars are as fantastic as the men's team and it's good to see CA finally ensuring both men's and women's cricket is starting to get shared billing, promotion, etc.
And Holly Ferling is cool as too, after meeting her at a Milo Kids cricket carnival. Really friendly and took a hat trick in her first men's first grade game as a 17 year old.
Mate, I reckon anything that allows a young child sitting in front of their TV to say to themselves "I'd love to do that" is a credit to the sport and the way it is marketed and presented. Channel Nine have done a terrific job with the Southern Stars T20 coverage - Mel Jones and Lisa Sthalekar were very insightful and it was good to see Channel Ten pick them up for the domestic T20 final.
Meg Lanning looks a no-nonsense, straight-shooting sort of character and I think Australian fans would respect that. Her "numbers" alone command respect: an ODI average of 45.64 with a strike rate of 98.10 with 5 centuries and a T20 average of 32.81 with a strike rate of 120.28.
