Heres a couple of case breaks by chris at Cards Infinity.

Base cards look like the best GS base yet.

Overloaded on the metal cards I think.

By the looks of these two breaks. 1x "star" auto per case, 1x Patch Black Gold/white, 1x /10 base parrallel. Both cases had a sick patch each.

I say "star" that way because panini class some players as stars, just because their rc auto's would sell well. That doesn't mean they are always considered stars from their second year on...

The second case had a 1/1 Black.

Don't mind some of the legends signing in the superscribe set, as well as some of their materials like mavarich. Won't be doing a set or anything, but will grab the odd auto and material of the legends I don't have.

They have a good variety in this years release, so planning on picking up a few legend autos that didn't appear in previous sets!

Base set looks much nicer this year IMO. The black gold patches are as sick as always.

Im not really liking this years Gold Standard.
Panini went the easy route again! Just a 100% copy of last years.
Same Gold Strike, same rookie auto/gu, same superscribe, same white gold and black gold gu, mother lode again, 14k gold pieces again, same metal cards like last year (and a lot of boxes have 2 now!).

It just devaluates everything. Most of the players that were in the Gold Strike set as rookies last year are in it again this year. For instance Enes Kanter had one last year /249 and again this year /299. It just takes away any value from either year.
Loads of crappy and 3rd string players like Bazemore, Wayns, Meyers Leonard etc.

Panini knows that Gold Standard is one of their most popular products and they banked in on that by just 1/1 copying the 12-13 product and naming it 13-14.

@BigAl83 On further looks since it was released, I must agree.

Ive watched case break after case break trying to convince myself to buy some boxes. But I just cant bring myself to do it. I dont even want to buy any Kobe redemptions, cos Im worried panini will slap stickers on them even though for the last few years theyve always sprouted "all of our exclusive players will be on card" which has changed this season too.

My main issue with this years releases is what panini considers their "star players"

they have this way of thinking that if, say, Kyrie had a hi sale value as a rc auto, then he is now "star player", even though once hes no longer a rc, you can get an auto for under $100. Abd anthony Davis is less than $50 lately, but he is a "star" in paninis eyes because he sold ok as a rc, and is a panini exclusive.

As best as I can tell, out of all of the cases Ive seen busted, you only get 1 star auto.

Id be spewin if I pulled a "case hit" of a player thats resale value is less than the cost of a box...

Agree. I was looking at getting some boxes of this - but after buying into a case share I saw there was just no value in it. I will grab a couple more boxes of 12/13 Preferred instead.
