2012 NRL Select Champions factory sealed box

Looking to get involved in the hobby again and wanting to buy a box. I never knew anything about searched cases when I used to collect but ive been reading up about it.

Can any of you experts out there shed any light on whether this may or may not be from a searched case?

You cant really search a case of 2012 Champions as there is nothing to get harder than 1:36.

Ive been looking around on Ebay to buy a box. Is 8088edge a very trustworthy seller in regards to searched cases?

8088edge does have a certain dodginess about him and i have never bought a case off him because i am not 100%.
I have seen peoples breaks from his stuff and the cases seem legit but the boxes i would definitely steer clear of.

Gal we can cover, Carney i dont think so.
We will win regardless.

I've recently bought a case of 2005 Power off of him and it was unsearched. I haven't bought individual boxes though.

I notice hes got the same Mortimer Tribute Signature card I have and has it listed for a price of $799! If only I could get that much for it haha.

He seems to be one of the only ones selling single boxes on Ebay though.

The bookies dont like us. Will be huge if we can get up.

Im pretty sure i sold that Mortimer to him.
Get boxes from Cardzone, I know they arent searched.

Rename thread the Sharkies mutual gratification thread.....save your money tonight boys...take the unders (38.5) at $1.90 instead that sounds like stealing to me.

Cardzone would seem to be honest when it comes to box searching however extremly overpriced as a rule.

I would just go down to your local newsagent and ask for one, tell them what you can get them for online and ask them to drop their retail price.....save on postage as well

The problem is im in New Zealand and no one really does it here, especially not locally. So Ebay or buying from Australia are my only options.

Glenn from Gold Coast cards always seemed pretty legit on selling individual boxes but he doesn't seem to be listing any at the moment. To keep with the spirit of this thread I must say I am happy for the Sharkies fans and the Sharks as I have always enjoyed them as a team and they are battlers. Despie the Raiders letting Carney go I will always have a soft spot for him and he would be welcome to return to the lime green anyday as he is outstanding!

Hey Johno,

I'm also an NZ-based collector.

I bought a couple boxes from Dan's NRL Collectibles. He offers pretty sweet postage (about $20 AUS a box). I can't comment on case-searching, but as others have said, it's a non-issue for 2012 Champs. Due to the good will they've got going here and Gold Coast Cards tendency to auction full cases at once, I'd go Warren or Glenn for other series.

I wouldn't get anything off the Select website, they charge $50 AUS to ship one box to NZ, you shouldn't pay more than $30. Cardzone reliable and shipping isn't bad for bigger purchases, but you do pay a premium if buying inserts or base sets.

Sharks are indeed doing well - but why did you have to sign the Panthers' best back?

Im looking at getting a box of 2006 invincible but it seems Cardzone is the only place to get them.

I have no idea why they signed Gordon. Ive got this very bad feeling that their going to give Gardner the flick. I hope im wrong.

Last I looked Dansnrlcollectibles was selling boxes of 2006 Invincible - though have no idea whether he searches cases.

I bought a box of it off him about 18 months ago because I liked the base set design and was hoping I'd strike an Inglis or Farrah Top Prospect, but got the standard hit and a so-so sig (Perret) so kinda regret it.

Unless you get a high end insert, those 2006 boxes leave you feeling rather depressed - the insert pull is poor. 4 or 5 All Stars that can be picked up for $2 on ebay, a predictor and a TP (and many of these players went nowhere fast).
