Hey guys,
Noticed some colour variations in sorting through this years cards. What are your thoughts...
Low on ink
Different print run
Conspiracy!!!
Do you think these are collectible???
I have asked Select this question 2 years ago & their production manager Tony's answer was when they go to buy the cardboard to print the cards on the supplier can't supply enough for the print run so they have to get the balance required from another supplier & there is shade variations & that's why there is different shades of colour on the cards.
But you would think the variation would exist on all cards in the pack & box, but this not so it's usually on one or two cards.
I asked Tony that same question & he said they don't select the shade or colour of the cardboard till much later & No one can get or carry stock of that much sheets. He also said That they use 1/2 & 3/4 size sheets so this creates problems as well. The 2 or 3 supplies of cardboard go back as far as 2001 Impact Series.

Personally I don't think the faded ones are collectible at all in fact their condition should not be described as mint due to the bad colouring. I always put these into my doubles.
