just said that cos if the Nic Nat 1 was 174 that makes Jordan look like a school girl...lol Altho i was thinking if it was 174 he would be clear jumping over players heads...lol
Brett ratten is a hawthorn assistant coach. I think that's great news I rate him highly!
He's record says it all , he took the job at carlton when they had a young team and finished with a 50/50 record
Most of the big free agents do don't they? Carmelo --> NYK was a long saga... and let's not forget the whole D12 circus when he was trying to get to the Nets, Lebron's the decision, etc. etc.
He's out of contract but doesn't qualify as a free agent under the AFL's new free agency rules. The problem with the Tippett scenario (much like the Mitch Clark situation of last season) was his expressed desire to 'go home' to QLD. The pull of $$$ however has led to him wanting to go to Sydney.
Clark last year wanted to go home to WA and cited a sick grandma, cousin in jail etc etc. Then the dees threw a whole lot of coin at him and that was the last we heard about his poor ol' sick grandma....
It's a pretty in-flexible system with out of contract stars. Clubs can sometimes get held to ransom. If the club can't trade them then they may stand to lose them for nothing via the pre-season draft...
i'm interested to hear others thoughts on this, but I do think that the AFL currently has a real weakness with the way it approaches trades/free agency/draft etc.
Tippett to Sydney seems far from a done deal. Tippett's manager is banging on about Adelaide being honour bound in their agreement to move him smoothly to another club.
Adelaide sound like they believe that agreement was only when he wanted out to Qld.
Sydney don't have the picks that Gold Coast do, so unless a three way deal is worked out Adelaide will want their pound of flesh from Sydney.
I don't have a problem with players having some power in determining there careers, its their bodies on the line. But don't mislead your club of your intentions.

Exactly! Tippet and his manager are both money hungry muppets...... Tippet is looking like a puppet on a string with all this crap, his manager and dad are the ones dictating whats going on.....
The Crows had a "Gentleman's Agreement" to make it as easy as they could for Tippett to go HOME, not whinge and moan about being home sick then selling him self to the highest bidder..... I do't give a rats ass that Kurt has chased the coin, Im sure I would in the same situation! It's how he's handled himself to the club, his team mates and the supporters of the Crows. If you want to get paid, simply come out and say it, cop the crap you'll cop and move on... Now you have gone and burnt your "brothers in arms" from the last 6 years, a Club that has bent over backwards for you and made you the HIGHEST paid player in our clubs History and lastly a supporter base which is one of the biggest in the country which supported you the whole time through good and bad times......
I would never wish anyone serious injury that would affect their working and personal lives, but Karma's a bitch and it'll bite hard sooner or later....
Essendon receive Pick 48
Port Adelaide receive Angus Monfries.
Just my views on Tippett, dont like it one bit and think the Crows should play hard ball with Sydney and milk him for all he's worth and then some. The guy played 21 of a possible 24 or 25 games and didnt finish in their top 10 for B&F as a key forward in a team that lost a prelim final, not good enough!
