2012/13 Panini NBA Hoops

Thanks to Dave from WhoDat and OCT for the Premium Member giveaway as I am now in the possession of a box of 2012/13 Panini NBA Hoops.

I have to pick up my son from his school camp shortly and we will bust it when we get back.

I know it is a trip to the dark side for me as primarily a NRL collector but I have always looked with envy at all the sweet basketball cards you guys have available to you so am really looking forward to seeing what I have been missing out on.

Not too sure what to be hoping to pull from this release but I hope I pull it ……the buyback autographs sound like a cool thing.

OK time for a quick coffee so I can then settle into this bust.

My son likes Kevin Durant so when he saw on the box a picture of “the darantula” and realised we where about to bust a box of basketball and not league…… well let’s just say that I’m now moving way too slow for his liking and getting the hurry up big time.

There is a subset of inserts called 'Durant' that are in hoops and they are selling for around $100 a piece! For just an inserts!! So, I hope you get one for him!

On the top of the box there’s a different black pack Kobe Anthology….I like how there’s something completely different in there. I’ll save this and bust it last.

Pack 5: Action Photo James Harden….5 packs 5 different inserts, I like the insert to pack ratio at the moment compared to NRL

Card stock seems lower end for want of a better description......enjoying though

Hoops is the entry level product for NBA, so it is made cheaper to be accessible to kids as well! That's the reason why no cards are numbered as well!

That makes sense to me similiart to a NRL Champions release

There are 'Glossy' parallels that fall 4 per box on average. Also, there will be 1 'Artist Proof' parallel per box on average too! These ones say Artist Proof across the top!

Looks like the 2 autos will be in the second half of the box! C'Mon Irving!!!

Finally the KOBE Anthology pack:

These cards are thicker and nice in hand # 5 / 63 / 110 / 132 / 153

At 5 a box and over 150 for the set that is a lot of boxes, dare I say it wont be a set I'll ever complete.

Had a lot fun busting this thanks again Dave.
