and our argument would be the right result is the best result, cant see how that attitude reeks of arrogance, some people call it progress.....
How is it Aussie arrogance? FMD - England, Sth Africa and NZ all use DRS...except against India.
The fact remains that for the ICC to allow the BCCI or the governing body of any country the option of not using the Decision Review System is akin to corruption.
It is time for the international umpires to grow a collective backbone and INSTRUCT the ICC that if there is no uniformity (either UDRS is to be used in all Test matches or none at all) from the beginning of 2012 then they will withdraw their labour until such time as there is.
If you were an umpire and KNEW that a greater percentage of your decisons were going to be either verified as correct or correctly overturned due to the technology available, would you not want to use it when it IS available?
It is unquestionably a professional era - there has never been more money or resources available to the game of cricket than there is now. Instead of paying nonsensical wages to people for 5 minutes work in some piddling T20 competition somewhere, the game needs to first protect the people who ensure that a game of cricket can begin in the first place - the umpires.
did the umpire call it or did they go to the replay?
The umpire wasn't sure and went upstairs he was over by like 2cm. As i'm typing he just bowled Tendulkar hoping this isn't a NO BALL.
and there's the proof - if it's no review it should be no review at all, they can't have their cake and eat it too

I see it's the Indians fault, 2 different issue's one is the DRS the other is purely for the umpire if he is not sure just as the go for a replay on a run out, or to confirm if the ball touched the boundary rope during a dive etc, it's just an extension of this...
No...they are so pure as the driven snow, believing in the spirit of the game, they shouldn't get ANY reviews for anything. FMD - Patto tore out the spinner's middle and leg stumps and Erasmus gives Not Out! What the **** do they look for in adjudicating the LBW decision?
dont like the whole "one set of rules for the Indians and one set for everyone else" crap. who cares what they want, they need to go with the flow on this one, its the way cricket is going so they need to get over it. the ICC needs to put their foot down on this one, each series must have the same rules that everyone else are playing by. trust the Indians to want it their way or not at all, i say if they cant play like everyone else dont let them play until they change their minds.
Oh well your right im wrong, thats why DRS in not available, but the other is...

Well maybe instead of not implementing when all countries have not agreed, we wouldn't be in this situation, no such thing as democracy....
make all countries agree and if they dont then they dont play test cricket, simple.
Aah not simple, not in this day and age, you would be in court before you know it...
you think, but dont the ICC make the rules? i just dont like the way the Indians get one set of rules and everyone else gets another set. its pretty obvious the most fairest way to umpire the game is to be able to refer a decision. if the Indians dont want to go along with that then tough. the ICC told some of the lesser world cup playing nations that they might not be playing in the next world cup, just do the same to these guys. if you ask me it seems a little suss that they dont want referrals in the first place.
