When captain Russell Ebert held aloft the Thomas Seymour Hill trophy on 24th September 1977 after his side had beaten Glenelg by just 8 points in front of more than 56,000 people at Football Park, it ended a 12 year premiership drought.
In 2007, the Port Adelaide Football Club paid tribute to the 1977 premiership team by wearing a replica '77 guernsey as part of AFL's Heritage Round. It features the club's revered black-and-white prison bars and is distinguished by a patch commemorating the 100 years of the SANFL, just as ebert and his '77 team wore on their historic day.
This guernsey is one of two No.6 heritage guernseys worn by Adam Thomson during the Power's round 14 clash with the Western Bulldogs, it is 1 of only 44 guernseys produced ever. One guernsey was kept by the player and one by the club to be auctioned on ebay to raise funds for PAFC.
This Guernsey sold for $1985.00 on 12th July 2007 it comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by the then Port Power CEO John James, a team photo from the night and a copy of the screen shot from when the guernsey was sold on ebay.
After 2 years I am sure it is even more sought after and worth more but i am willing to part with it for the same price as it went for at auction or i will gladly trade it for an official 2004 Grand Final guernsey Cheers
Awesome stuff but thik ya would be hard pressed to swap it for an an official 2004 Grand Final guernsey .Would never part with mine espescially now as it is now a 1 of.The priice on it just skyrocketed!
always worth trying 2 trade it especially since most people don't have 2G's lying around. I know there was about 500 grand final guernseys made so the odds are there is a fan out there who bought a couple and would consider trading 1 for an even rarer guernsey, plus you get the added bonus if your a PAFC Magpies and Power fan of having a guernsey that commemorates both clubs. If you know any1 who has a couple if they wouldn't be interested in a trade i will pay cash instantly! please spread the word 2 all the power fans u know I would love this guernsey 2 go 2 a loving home
