Still too soon. 5 goals up with 2 minutes to go, we have it. until then... it's not ours. Trust me, I know this Hawthorn team. We can look good and give it up in a quarter.... I just cannot get too excited yet. though Boyles last goal was a beauty!
What a dodgy 50m penalty... see stuff like that is what turns Hawthorn games.... umpires give stupid decisions and it can change the game. Poor Dixon stands his ground melbourne player takes a mark and runs into him and he is penalised. Stupid umpiring.
They kicked the last two goals... if Hawthorn comes out and bangs on a couple goals straight away then yes I will say we have it... but 29 points... that is something we can definitely give up in the final quarter. Especially if our boys tire and start to play in their shells, that is my main concern.
Mark my words though, if Hawthorn wins the theme song will be playing rather loudly at my house!
ahhh it seems the maturity is slowly coming into the side - a couple years ago we would have lost that one. Instead we steadied for a 22 point victory - bloody good effort on Melbournes part though... full credit they didn't give up despite the injuries to key players.
What I should add though.... is Travis Johnstone may be a great player but I would NOT EVER EVER want him on my team. He is a good news player only... he only works hard.... when his team is up.... he is way to lazy and soft when his team is down. I think it's about time he played in the magoos.... teach him some work ethic. He needs to get a little Glenn Archer in him... go hard no matter what!
Dees looked bad today. Their midfield was good and how good are Bruce, MacDonald & Brown....
Bate needs to pick up his act....he would have 80% INeffective possessions. Our backline was small and our forward line was ineffective after Neitz got injured...
All credit to the Hawks though....
Tell you what doesnt feel good all the way down here....you know on the bottom of the ladder
i think in the end it was the melbourne injuries that hurt the most. credit to hawthorn to stay composed and run out the game. 6/8 from tipping this round, last 2 games tipped wrong.
How good are MItchell, Lewis, Sewell and Crawford? Not to mention Hodge who nevr really playe din the midfield!
and what about Robbie Campbell's rucking?
Bruce was the highlight for the Dee's but he was hardly sighted in the final quarter when it mattered. Robbo had heart too... but I don't have much to say about the rest of the team they were not consistent enough.
The Dee's gave away a few undisciplined free kicks too that helped the Hawks.
At least Bate tried hard to get the ball in my opinion thats better than lazy arsed Johnstone. Put Baate's heart in Johnstone and you might have a gun!

Sorry Aj....didnt mean to take away from the Hawks....they played very well. Boyle up forward is an exciting prospect for you. And how fast is Franklin....that is the first time i have seen him play....his run on the wing for an eventual point was very exciting!!
Crawford had a blinder....and Mitchell and co were also very good!!
Lets face it....Injuries and no heart (in some cases) cost the dees big time....#-o #-o
