Hi

Did anyone on here collect the 1996 Pride of the Nation Olympic Trading cards.

I was only young but I loved them.i remember I got all the base and just fell a few cards short with the 2 insert sets.

As for the redemptions I got One which my parents informed me was with the last packet we brought as the same packet had the last card I needed for the base set.And at the time as a kid inserts were just bonuses.

Id loved to get the rest of the inserts i need and even the last 4 redemption signatures.

I also heard there was an album released. Is this true?

Id love to see another Olympic set produced but I don't see it in the near future.

Gee I cant remember.Umm I was only 11 or 12. Would have been first half of the year I would think cos I think they were out same time as AFL

this series set a record actually, was a dumped product only 2 weeks after release!
when the boxes didn't sell for $5 a box i think some dealers just tossed them in the bin.

yeah, the redemption cards aren't too bad, well they didn't pick very good people, probably nicole stephenson is the only one of note.
intrpid closed up shortly after so i'd imagine there are lots of unredeemed cards out there, but with 500 of each they ain't worth much at all, the ozcon version of the promo card is probably the hardest thing to find in this series now.

can't remember there ever being an album though

Yeah I've had a look on the Card zone website.

All the redemption card people did manage olympic medals. With Brad McGee probably right up there with Nicole.Ill probably buy the cards I need from Card zone but wanted to try this forum first.

Yeah 2500 redemption cards in 5000 boxes is 1in2 boxes so not as hard to pull as some others.
