I wasn't too sure if this was the real deal or not but took a punt as there was no photo. No redemption card but COA and card aint too bad. Also dated the day after my b'day. This card was meant to be mine:D:D:D

very nice indeed........just checked my album on the off chance the redemption card I have was the same number...........unfortunately no, its #787

One day, one of us will find that needle in a haystack and match unredeemed card with it's set from the Dynamic fire sale. I've yet to see it.

I remember in the late 90's you could buy up all the Ex Futera stock (sigs etc) for $40 a set......I picked up both Waugh's a Taylor and a Boon for $40 each. With certificate cards as well!

Got sold off I believe but not sure who to

Cardzone got a fair chunk of the sports stuff and Brisbane cards got alot of the non-sports stuff plus some of the NRL stuff.

Excellent mailday Mischa. No questioning the authenticity on that one. I have always wondered though why sometime Dynamic kept the redemption and sometimes they didnt.

That is an excellent point Owen, makes it hard to determine authenticity..........though I remember someone saying you had to request the redemption to be returned IOT get it back.............crazy

Just put it down to another Dyanmic inconsistency

Yup, that's genuine!
Originally you had to send the redemption card in to Dynamic and you never got them back.
You received your Signature card and the A4 sized paper COA.
I sent a letter away with mine way back then and asked if I could have the redemption card back? The answer was NO. So I asked why they couldn't use a hole punch like a bus ticket or stamp on redeemed cards?
The very next series hole punch became the norm.

Regards, Jim

I think the only saving grace is that the writing was always by the one person and its quite distinctive. I wonder if they just destroyed the redemption cards they kept? Crazy.

Who would have thought using a hole punch was that revolutionary.

Fooled me.

Mine Lamb and Meninga were redeemed on the 25th of July and 25th of August 1994. Both times i asked for the redemption back and got it.

Sorry dude, it's a Gee-Up!
Look at the image file name.

I also checked to see if I had it but didn't :(
Sorry if it got your hopes up.

Regards, Jim
Bastard! I was going to ask if redemption was used, how you got your mitts onto it? You had me for a sec until I thought a bit harder about it

Where did all of Dynamic's stock go?

Ok, so I spoke to Ray who used to run Brisbane Cards yesterday about the Dynamic stock question and he told me that just before Dynamic went bust they formed a new company 'Intrepid' about 6-12 months beforehand but they could not transfer their stock to Intrepid. The card industry was in trouble at this time thus Dynamic was in trouble, they apparantly decided to form the new company because at the time if you close a business you didn't pay tax (not sure how) and you received a tax break for the first 12 months with the new company. So Dynamic was going to morph into Intrepid and trade as Pitt Trading Cards.

They had to dispose of the stock and to Ray's knowledge none of the distributors in Australia bought or received any of the Dynamic stock, he believes it was auctioned off quietly thru the receivers. Cardzone got about 50% off the stock with the remainder going to a guy in the USA either through the same auction, another auction or as a private sale who was one of the largest card distributors in the industry.

Ray tells me that Cardzone flooded the market in order to make a quick buck but the fella in the states intended to sit on the Dynamic stock, however, he died in 1998 and the market continued to be flooded with Dynamic stock. There was a bit more juicy info in the notes he gave me but unfortunately that is not for publication.

I hope that helps.

Thanks for the info mate, certainly interesting.

Cardzone = Steve Wang, right?

Also, why did Dynamic go belly up?
