All the sets from the 60s till Dynamic had no inserts, bar one (1980?), which had 5 cards that were not listed on checklists, thats about the closets they got to inserts...
The 1992 NRL set was a step up from the 1990 and 1991 sets and they were the Ist gloss coated cards, which was a step in the right direction.
As for inserts and specials.....again it was a first as Regina randomly inserted display posters in some boxes. So you may have the set,but few would have the original poster.
I believe the poster was approx 4 or 6 per case(24)
In 1993 Regina did the same thing.Inserted a random poster in the boxes, similar ratio,so they are almost case/box cards.
Hope this helps
Just as an add on,to our discussion about 1992 and similar aged cards. The 1993 set had a "competition card" in the packs.I wonder how many people have got 174 cards and no "competition card"?
So there will be a shortage of this card also.Dont right off the old sets yet!
As stated earlier the gum will damage 1 card per pack in1992 boxes.Thats 48 cards per box.
Are they the same numbers that keep recurring? If they are the same numbers, it is going to create a shortage of certain numbers to complete future sets.So what started out as a cheap box......now isnt really so cheap anymore!
Once people realise this FACT they may start to have a different viewpoint and put a different value on 1992 mint sets. There simply wont be enough sets to meet the future demand.
Armed with THIS information, what do you do?
1.Open box and not complete the sets? oops how does that affect set prices?
2.Leave the box complete. oops now everyone in the future cant complete their set!
End result is the same.Prices must rise.
5 years ago 1992 boxes were $10.Guess what? There is one on ebay right now for $60 and its got 4 days left! The word is getting out already.
The same is true of the 1990 1991 boxes if there are any left.1993 did not have gum but are as rare as.....
And no.I have nothing to do with the ebay auction.
