Beware - LONG READ!
Well I've finally made it to 150 jersey #'d cards. At the end of the 2006-07 I was cruising at 113 - pulling in about 30 or 40 a year - then KG was traded to the Celtics and the #21 cards dried up BIG TIME! I decided to stick to TWolves #21 cards and not collect #5 Celtics cards. My man Dennis (LOWINMASS) was doing that just fine!
Last year I got only 19 and this year so far - 18 but #150 has finally arrived and I couldn't be happier!
I have a bit of an Oscar speech to give - will save that for later. That way u can check out the cards and bugger off if u want!!
Anyway - will start off with a NON #21 card. I've had a mancrush on this card ever since it was released and waited and waited for the #21/25 version showed up - it never has as the product was rubbish - it's probably still in a pack somewhere...
Anyway - here it is #3/25....I couldn't turn it down...
I'm sure it's all the blackness I like being a proud kiwi!!
Now onto the #21 cards.....
#146 - I got this in on the cheap a while back - adds nicely to the set I am developing that are all jersey #'d.... butt ugly set but who cares!!
#21/50 sits well with these....
#147 - this card was also picked up a while back with the help of ozmaker and doctoridris.....cheers guys for your donations!!!
Goes well with this one I picked up recently...
#148 - This is my 17th KG #21 auto and was lassooed with the help of my great mate LJBIGGESTFAN - Patrick has been my US buyer for non int'l auctions since 2005! I have lost count of the number of times he's helped me out but it'd be in double figures....
#21/275 - It sits well beside the 02-03 version....
- also #21/275.
#149 - I was over the moon when this next card showed up on ebay. 90's jersey #'d cards are rare as hen's teeth - this one is only my 9th #21 card from the 90's....
I was stoked with the price ($31) as I was willing to pay twice that!!
Finally #150 - I always hoped that my 150th would be a great card and through a bit of luck and planning this one came in as #150 today.
I must give a BIG THANK YOU to KG9779 - My Taiwanese friend Jimmy! This card I first spotted on a yahoo taiwan auction site (yes that's how hard I look!) - Jimmy said he'd bid for me to help win it. The seller wouldn't budge on his price so I had to pay a bit for it but it was worth it and a worthy theme to be #150! The seller took a while to send it to Jimmy but it it got there in the end and he hightailed it too me in double quick time!!
Without further ado... here's #150.....
and my 18th KG #21 auto.....
Good man Jimmy - I owe u one!!
