Hockey 11/12 Panini Contenders - 3 Boxes

Definitely my favourite low-mid range set of the season, and I've decided to try to complete the NHL Ink set.

Box 3

Box 2 is definitely the pick of the bunch. Another Lack auto (to go with the one from Elite) for the PC, and the Roy patch auto is sensational, just a shame the lower right corner is ever so slightly dinged.

Scans and photos don't do those /100 all black cards justice, they look really nice in the hand, and they are on a nice heavy stock somewhere between 130pt-180pt.

Landeskog auto from Box 3 is a nice hit as well.

As for NHL Inks, already had a Kopitar bit this one's auto is better placed. Shame to pull two Geoffrion's from 3 boxes though.

love the game.... used to follow it when winnipeg jets were still in the nhl.... lllllllloooong time ago.....

They came back to the league this past season.

Sorta.

The Atlanta Thrashers relocated to Winnipeg, to revive the Jets name.

Shame though, the Phoenix Coyotes (ie the original Jets) were bought out of financial trouble by the NHL in 2009 to keep them alive and find a new owner. An investment group is now interested, however they're trying to angle for a new arena in Phoenix which is being met with some resistance.

Ultimately they may end up moving out of Phoenix, and it would've been nice to move them back to Winnipeg to maintain their original lineage.

yeah I knew the coyotes was there new name after relocating.... pity the wrong team went back to try a revival.

Wish you all the best with those. To be honest I prefer the 10/11 contenders.. Hope that they bring out contenders for the next rookie season.
