A MAN used eBay to trick bidders and funnel their money into accounts kept under false names, a court has heard.
Bobi Lucian Marinescu, 32, of no fixed address, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
He has yet to plead to 21 counts of dishonestly dealing with documents, 28 counts of knowingly engaging in money laundering and two counts of unlawful possession.
Documents filed with the court allege the offences took place between July and September 2010 at locations including Torrensville, Walkerville and Reynella.
Today Gary Philips, prosecuting, said the case against Marinescu was "fairly complex".
"This is eBay fraud, and items were offered for sale online," he said
"Money was paid for the items and funds were transferred into 21 bank accounts kept under false names.
"These charges relate to 28 deposits into those accounts, and those who made the deposits live all around the country."
Mr Philips asked for an adjournment, saying he needed more time to collect statements relating to the case.
Chief Magistrate Liz Bolton remanded Marinescu in custody until April.
