I will be breaking a box that I got from DaCardWorld 36 packs per box and 10 cards per pack. Will be picking it up later today and then breaking it tonight. Not sure what time probably around 7:30 CST.
Would love some mojo, but really would just like a few nice cards.
:v::v::v::v:
I decided that this wont be a live break, I will post the hits up and my thoughts on the cards after the break. I decided that my lounge chair looks a lot more comfy than my computer chair.
Just quick update, 12 packs down no GU, auto, but got a refractor rookie card of Hasheem Thabeet #/500 but it was slightly damaged out of the pack, looks like a printing problem possibly. Will post all hits up after.
OK Here is my summary of the product and what I got;
283/315 from the common set
14/15 rookie cards missing #330
4 doubles, I am happy with that
4 checklists, its oldschool, I love em wished every single product had them.
36 Gold parallel #/2009
Only players of note Chris Paul, Dwight Howard (who else do you need)
6 Draft Snapshot inserts
Look like they are 1:6 packs
Ben Gordan the only one of note
4 Topps Chrome #/999
They come around 1:10
Paul Gasol & Tim Duncan of Note
Topps Black (I think) #/50
Erick Dampier 10/50 - nice card
Now for the weird thing - 2 Topps Chrome Refractors
Both Hasheem Thabeet rookie cards, one 476/500 the other 397/500
One has a very slight bit of manufacturing damage, really just a smudge
3 Roundball Remnants
No offence to these guys but not a fan of any of them as players
Shane Battier
Jamal Crawford
Monta Ellis
Mojo Here - No idea how rare they are but weird they are not serially numbered so maybe not rare,
Tyreke Evans McDonalds All American on Card Autopgraph, Nice looking auto too.
My opinion of the set: I thought overall a very solid set, great photo's on the common cards the best I have seen in a modern product. GU cards are for lack of a better word crap lazy designs. Their idea of inserts to me a fan of the 1990's seem's warped. The highlights of this set to me would have to be the gold parallels they are a very nice balanced set. Overall I would give them a B-, it is sad when the highlight of a set is its commons. A lazy set in design (apart from commons and gold parallel). GU cards if they were any smaller pieces might as well not be on the card.
Everything except the common set and the gold parallel is up for trade or sale (yes I work opposite to lots of collectors). Just hit me up with a PM. I am not overly interested in trading or selling would have to be a pretty good offer or something else from this set as I am going to try and collect it.
