08 Supreme Case Share - PPL?

First news i'm hearing is that the 2008 2nd series will NOT be Supreme...

2008 AFL CLASSIC series.....

Due out in July....

What do you all think of the name?:-k
 
oh wow .. a different name.

hmm, seems like an exciting box this year, especially with the talented rookies coming through.

Hmm thats interesting would be awesome is select did something new and fresh this year
 
lol select are pretty impulsive, seem just to make things up as they go... which can either be a good thing sometimes or can really suck.. dunno, i mean i dunno why they keep changing the name.. I mean with supreme actually means something ..at least it sound like it is the top-end series, over champions, classics sounds a bit lame and has been done to death back in the 80s n 90s. I guess it is ok if it is relevant to a particular sets of inserts in the boxes that are one offs for that series.. Well i guess it is just a name.. It is funny cause they actually said they were settling on champions and supreme. I personally like the idea of collecting the same inserts across similar series.. Makes things more sort after especially when they release additions to the sets in new series.. look at how much 1996 HOF sets are going for now..you could get them for 20 dollars before 2003 and now after 2007 be lucky to get one under 140 dollars..Highly collectable But i guess i understanding i dont think i wiil be collecting champs again next year if they release the same inserts again.. 'snore', gems, 'snore' BFS, 'snore' sketches. Gotta keep it fresh to keep ppl like us interested to fork over our hard earn money..

Eventually there are going to run out names to use..I guess it is a good thing when you talking about cards and you can go dynasty or SPx without confusion and naming years.. Im not sure how much they seek out feedback from their customers.. rucks do you get ask for opinion on releases?? Just interested to see if they do much market research.,

I've never been asked an opinion or anything from Select...

I'm not saying the name is 100% certain... but i'm pretty sure...
 

I agree with what you said, I like Supreme and Champions, it makes it easy to know what a insert may be worth etc.

I have worked out of the 17 rookies there are i would want any of these
kreuzer cotchin masten morton meyers palmer henderson rioli ebert tarrant taylor. if i get any of them im happy and its pretty good odds 11/17 would most probably want palmer hes going to be the biggest superstar even beats rioli my opinion i mean i hate the dockers but palmers a gun.
 
pruey that is very ffing hopeful.. you will be very lucky to just get just one.. let alone the case hit..

oh yeah if anyone pulls a joel selwood norwich rising star medal sig redemption i would be very keen on buying it..

Hi guys,

Great to see so much interest in the new Series 2 release. I'm as excited as the rest of you to see what's inside each case. We will be buying multiple cases of both NRL and AFL in the hope we can get all the big insert sigs. Long days and nights ahead opening all those packets!

Since everyone seems keen to find out what's in the new series I thought I might share this link with the thread.
What would you like to see in the 2008 Series 2 Footy Card Release? | Footy Stars "Collectors Edition" Newsletter

It's an article that I wrote in our newsletter recently and contains suggestions from other readers.

Some of the ideas I think are pretty unique and worthwhile. In my opinion it would be nice to see something new from Select to break up the pattern of "same old same old".

Select have been pretty tight lipped about any contents of Series 2... hopefully things being leaking out soon.

Does anybody know the release dates for the NRL Series 2, and also, how do you order cases? I am hoping to be in a position where I can buy my own case of NRL so I will have to do very little hunting for cards (predictors etc) after they have been released. Any advice/info would be greatly appriciated.

PS - Depending on my financial situation and the cost when they are released, I may or may not be keen on a box of AFL. Cheers
 

The NRL series 2 will be released around the same time as the AFL, the pricing will be similar as last year, around $1700 for a case and abour $150-180 for a box for both AFL and NRL, if you are interested in ordering a case once the pricing is finalised I might be able to get you one, if not there are quite a few members on here that can do the cases cheaply, instead of buying them at full retail
 
Where do you buy select supreme cases so cheap? Is it straight from Select?

I called a distributor for Team Coach and his prices were huge.

Just wondering where you get cheap cases from?
