08-09 Murad Redemption Replacement Fair?

G'Day guys just scraped in with getting a Roy Hibbert AU redeemed from a box of Topps T-51 Murad (3-4 year expiration date on redemption...Panini are you reading) but got a letter today with a Paul Pierce AU saying they couldn't track down the Hibbert, they said it ws of equal value but I don't see how a vet AU can be considered equal to a Rookie AU.
Thoughts?
