I didn't know what to think this morning when my mailman dropped off this large mail sack. The type I've never seen before  Well it had my name on it so it must be for me but I didn't order anything from Chicago IL :ermm::-k

SOOO I open it up and its come surface mail from amazon.....OK.....:-k

Inside a find a box and inside that is possibly the best book ever! :worthy::worthy::worthy::worthy:

EVER card pictured is a prime example and in psa graded form. Book is thick hard cover at least 40cm sq and nearly 400 pages in full gloss :woot:

These few weeks have been really tough, some of you may know I've lost one of my best mates in the fires at Kinglake and another friend up the road at St Andrews. Its been a pretty horrible time taking care of business and ringing friends to tell them is the worst. Also helping out a mate protect his house at Healsville which we saved but only after we got out of there and just left it to burn if it had to. We weren't losing any more mates for just a house.

Graham's act of kindness getting this for me really does make a difference and I'm not normally one to air my problems publicly online but at these times people really show their true colours and I wanted to publicly thank you G so you get the kudos

Just like my mates affected by the fires coming together at this point of time it shows how great the site we've built is when people think of others here and help out when they can.

Now for some pics of card goodness

Be patient as they take a while to upload. I recommend this book to any collector of the hobby for any sport. Its pretty easy to appreciate great cards regardless of what sport they are.

And for the record it takes to get to number #20 on the greatest cards off all time till we see the Jordan fleer RC. Mikan beats him to the title of best BBall card of all time.

Ahh here is the Hondo.

Some great pics of cards and it cover autos for all sports as I've shown and bats and balls for baseball too. Kinda like the Springfield hall of fame but for cards in book form. This should be the coffee table book for every member here

So sad to hear of your loss :(

What a wonderfull gesture of Kindness... definately the kind of book you can get lost in from time to time ;)

Chad, great book isnt it?

I had a similar package arrive yesterday and at first thought....what the hell did I buy, and secondly how can I explain it to my wife?

The book is awesome and some of the cards pictured are true relics.....including the Hondo test issue!

Graham....thank you so much mate! A very nice gesture and one that will provide endless hours of reading for me!

Cheers
Matt

It was a gift from me for each of the Admins/Mods here to say thanks for all the hard work you guys do on the site. Hope you haven't blown it too much for Stace as he is probably still waiting for his to come in the mail ;)
