First off a big thank you to bjs127 Brad for keeping me in mind when he decided to split up his epic Cricket card collection and allowed me to purchase these sets off of him.

Thank you to Ozcardtrader, cos if it wasn't for this website I don't think I would've come across these cards and other rare cards that I have picked up since joining. A great site with great members .

The first set is the 1996 Elite Impact set of which only 50 exists and rarely ever seen (the only other one I've seen is pineneedlebeetle Russell's set).

The first time I had come across these cricket cards (back 1996) I was intrigued by the design and quality of this set. Even when I had stopped collecting I had always wanted to complete this set as I had the base and specialists sets. Forward ten years and back into collecting I had finally completed the Freshmen set, a year later I had found the Caught Marsh Bowled Lillee signature card :kick:.

One thing was still missing, F1 on the checklist, what the .... was the F1?. Well the Futera file soon enlightened me as to what it was. Then the hunt was on to find that card/s. Even at the last card show I went to; sashsquach and Footycards were telling me that they even haven't seen these cards before and it could take 25 years to even come across these. I wasn't too happy to hear that .

Then came along February 2013, what a month! Firstly the Baggio Gold/ Diamond card shows up for sale..... then a week later these.
So 16 years later I have finally finished off this set and here is the 1996 Futera Impact card set number 20 out of 50!:

The second Impact card is from the 1996/97 Decider series of which only 25 Impact cards exist, this being #006/25:

Hello all

I'm new to OCT - this being my first post.

I've been trying to complete The Decider Master set for several years now. Managed to pick up the Decider Impact #16 / 25 full set on ebay several weeks ago and was pretty excited about that. I was wondering how many of those Impact cards would have been redeemed with this being the last set Futera produced I believe - so now I know there is at least one other !!! :-) Anybody know of any other redeemed Impact sets out there ?

Decider is a challenge - I currently have 11 different 4 card uncut sheets and I know there are more. I have three different 9 card sheets and know there are more as well as the several varieties of the Frontliners, Run Machines and Platinum Waughs ! not to mention different varieties of box cards !

I'm chasing the following-
Ponting Signature card
red Cash Card of Warne Puzzle (card 28)
Gold Edition cards (McDermott and Bevans)

and I saw something about a rare Brian Lara sample card if anyone has ever seen one of those !!

Sorry - my wants should probably go in another post I guess.

Anyway - any comments or assistance appreciated.

And thanks to mambodan for his help so far !

cheers
John

Welcome to the Cricket forum John

Well done on getting yourself a Impact Decider redemption set as these are very hard to come by. The reason being that only 6 or so ever got redeemed before Futera's demise.

Every insert card featured in the Decider series will be apart of the 4 up set.

I'll keep an eye out for the cards that you need.

Here's a picture of the Lara Sample card (13 exist) - http://www.ozcardtrader.com.au/community/threads/sandown-card-fair-pickups.123517/

Hope the above is helpful

Hello again

Thanks very much for that info - at least I know what I'm looking for now - especially with the Lara card.

With the Decider 4 ups - I will try to attach a few that I have that are interesting, one has a box card in it, so I assume all the box cards will be in a 4up (or 3up). Another has a sticker across the bottom that says "Certified by Futera as a Special Employee Edition" with embossed unnumbered FDI SW cards, and the third has the Impact card in it, but on the back the cards are actually numbered - 0101of 100, 0501 of 500 and 0026 of 0025.

Don't know how those numbers work ! how many of them are there with higher numbers ?? does anybody know how many 4 ups there might be - or 9up sheets ??

if anyone wants to compare 4ups or 9ups I'm happy to join in and show what I have - and keen to

I managed to find one of these. Not sure if I want it. Is anyone else keen? Seems like a sample card.

Hey yes that's an interesting one.

I get a bit concerned about some of these Futera cards / sheets like this one that is actually numbered 30/50 for the Impact.

I'm assuming that there is another actual single Redemption Impact card somewhere out there with the number 30 as well.

So what happens if this sheet is cut into individual cards ?? - there are then two number 30 Impact cards ? and the Lillee Marsh cards could also be signed up and then there would be two lots of them out there somewhere numbered 30 ?

I'm not saying this sheet will be cut up but I know it has happened before with other Futera chase cards / sheets where I've seen two of the same numbered chase cards.

I assume Futera were always a bit loose with their numbering of cards.

I only collect The Decider set and that doesn't seem to have the same problems as much from what I've seen. (Although my sheet above has a # 26/25 Impact card - not sure how that works !! :-)

Again an interesting sheet - not sure on pricing but being numbered would make it worth more that not.

By the way - I'm still chasing a Decider Ponting signature card and Warne Red puzzle cash card - must be some out there !!!!

Good luck with it.
Cheers
John
