Elite paydirt

I've been holding off from buying packets of Elite in order to get a good chunk from a box rather than dipping in for 2 or 3 packets here & there. Bought 12 packets yesterday (emptied the box) and finally got a hit. Not one of the biggies but definitely a good hit - #106.

Also got Inglis Rep card plus Pearce & Farah Triples.

Not great overall - 4 hits from 12 packs, but saved by the sig. Will press on regardless.

Sweet work Muzza, it's always hard to resist the temptation of loose packs vs box but then again, why not? :thumbsup:

The problem with this product is the risk and reward equation. I've already busted 2 sig-less boxes and only got one FFGold (Warriors)

, so I know the odds are even against box breakers. At least the sigs are at better ratios than with Traders, and I figure my odds are better buying packets in "bulk". Just gotta resist the urge until I've saved up another $50 - $60 to go again.

Should have edited the title of this thread to end with "dries up".

I've had two more goes at my "chunk theory" with quite unspectacular results.
10 packs mid-week = 2 x TT's & 1 AustRep
10 packs yesterday = 2 x TT's & 1 AustRep (this one I already had, GI)

Two different boxes but a very poor strike-rate. Not even a Fast & Furious!!! :thumbsdown:

Will press on regardless.

Just an update for the benefit of those who are struggling for hits as well.
Got another 10 packs yesterday, went OK withe the first five - Silver FF Cowboys & 4 Triples. :thumbsup:

Then 5 packets of base.

Update time.

My strike rates have been abysmal.
Six mid-week packs for 2 TT's!!!
This afternoon came across some Starter Packs at Belmore N/A. First I've ever seen, got a bit excited and grabbed two - came up with one TT!!! :sick:

WTF about Starter Packs again?

Six starter packs later and I have 5 more TT's to my name :eek:

I kept buying the starters thinking they'd have to produce something eventually, but...............nothing. Even got one with 3 base packs.

Back to the boxes for now. :thumbsup:

Update time again.

I've cleaned out Belmore N/A's Starter Packs twice over for squat. Moved back to hitting packs from boxes and yesterday the strike rate changed for the better.

Got the Hayne at the local N/A from 2 packs with the early paper run. Feeling lucky so picked up another 4 packs later in the day and scored Barba.

Still didn't kill the pain from yesterday arvo's game (but it did help a bit).

If my memory serves me correctly :whistle:

the Hayne was from 2 packs on the left close to the top of a fresh box and the Barba was from a 2/3 full box but I grabbed 2 packs from either side so don't know which was which.

Another update.

The strike rate is certainly improving. :thumbsup:

10 packs so far this week from three different N/A's.

3 x Silver FF's - Broncos, Roosters, Parra.
3 x AR's - Slater, Tamou, Williams.
1 x TT - Watmough.

Another signature just around the corner. Wouldn't mind a Gold FF either.

I'll give your theory a go on the next full box I come across. Just can't be certain because Sigs and Golds aren't in every box. Worth a stab though.

yeah that's true but I have busted two cases and almost every time the ff gold and the sigs were on the right and 6,7,8 or nine from the top.

I have had 3 of my last 5 sigs from the left side of the box about midway down. In saying that they were not brand new boxes so the packs containing sigs may have been moved from their original positions!!

The whole deal with me is that when I'm cashed up to have a go at a few packs I'm not going to wait to find a full box anywhere, I'm gunna buy what's on offer. The first sig I got (Nate Myles) was towards the bottom of the box and I don't know exactly which pack coz I didn't take notice coz I didn't care.

Anyway, I bought 3 more starter packs today. Waited for the family to get home to open 'em.
AR Hodges from the first three.
TT Hayne next three.
TT Watmough the other. At least there were inserts in all.
I'm done with the starters, I'll pay the extra $1. :thumbsdown:

Back to the packs this week.
Been getting more than my share of AR's, only problem is that I already had most of 'em. Also the odd TT, no complaints but nothing great.
Then from today's three packs a Konrad Hurrell TT and a Tautau Moga Future Stars, 16/105 - my first one of these. :woot:

I'm sticking with the loose packs for sure.
