So my mother in law is cleaning out my wife's nan's house and says to her on Saturday she's found some footy pictures, and would I want them.

Sure, I shrug.

So this morning, she drops them around.

It's a full set of 1967 Daily Mirror cards in a condition I would say is EXCELLENT to almost NEAR MINT.

I couldn't believe it.

Now I have to figure out what I'm going to store them in.

Sorry, not for sale. But if I ever do, will let you know.

Gotta find something to store them in. They have been in an envelope in a cupboard for at least 25 years.

Every half hour or so, I just stand and look at the 12 of them. I remember back in 1995 a bloke at The Entrance had numbers of each of them for about $20 each, all MINT and I always wanted a Souffs one. To get a full set in pristine condition has really blown my sox off.

Now am figuring out if I'm going to get them framed or not.

Nana's save everything!! My nana gave me a newspaper of the Titanic..... She kept it from the time she was a lil girl...... It is very cool to 'stumble' across stuff!!

Yeah. My own grandfather had a double-volume set called THE BRADMAN ALBUMS personally signed by Sir Donald Bradman and addressed to him from a visit in 1990/1991. They were 'mine' until my aunts cleaned out the house a couple of years back and every single thing went in to a skip.

There were tears then I tell you.

Was that the old fella that had the coin and stamp shop in the main drag at the entrance ?

My wife told me earlier that my mother in law sent my father in law home because he was just bagging stuff for the bin and saying "just get a skip". When I told her what they were, she felt vindicated sending him home to clean out the house at her pace.

Thank the lord!!!

great score, good to see them go to some one who appreciates them. I think you'll find they're too big for 4 pocket pages. I have mine in 2 pocket pages. A bit oversize but OK.
Used to love that shop at The Entrance. Swapped a set of "Man from Uncle" cards for a mint set of 1986 scanlens with him back in the day. I think his tag on Ebay is Newshintaro.

I remember that shop it was there in the 1970's .
He had boxes full of footy cards
I use 2 pocket pages for large stuff they are 21cmx14cm

That's the bloke. Peter is his name. Nice bloke. Sells coins, stamps, cards, ephemera and the like.

It's where I got 90% of my personal collection cards and Souths cards from 1970's and 1980's.
Yep thats him chris
I used to stay with my nan when i was a kid on school holidays she would take my to the entrance to the carnivals that were there and i remember walking into that shop a few times,he had boxes of cards everywhere.
i can remember buying 10 dragons cards for a dollar from him.
