NRL Finals Discussion

great game. Win TV up here in airlie went to no signal 5 minutes into the broadcast. NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! signal came back on in the 20th minute :kick:

What did you think of Hodges tackle on Morris, when he was lying on the ground injured...

I thought about him the same way i felt about Brett Stewart. Was a low act, he had no idea what sort of injury Morris had at the time, he had clearly surrended...i would have understood if Creagh had of picked him up off Morris and given him a right hook.

Another justin Hodges brain snap to add to the highlight reel!! As a broncos fan, im hoping that was it for the season!!!
At least it did look like he apologised after.
It also wouldnt suprise me if there was a message in that tackle for something else that happened.

Very proud of the Warriors, they've not been talked about as serious contenders all year by the media and here they are in the last 4. I'm sure by next weekend they'll be written off again... The great thing is they're gonna be even better next year with Shaun Johnson with another year under his belt, Maloney continuing to improve and Locke's form at fullback. If they keep Inu at centre they've kinda solved a year long problem there... Mannering was incredible in that 2nd half vs the Tigers...has been a terrific captain this year and deserved POY winner.

I see Bill Harrigan has called the Inu try a fantastic decision and is looking into some of the penalties against the W's. He said he thought Locke's leg tackle was poor and should be citeable!! Need some consistency if they're gonna do that...

must say that is justin hodges though, you love him or hate him.

he was well in his rights to do it, bit of a dog act but i still liked it.

if it was on someone who i liked then that might of been different.

The commentators should be cited for being so stupid and not knowing the rules. Memorandum went around the league over 2 months ago about the crack down and that one was obvious. When the attacking playing is being held standing up and all forward progress has stopped, in other words, he has surrended to the tackle, a 3rd player can't run in and spear the legs out. The crowd certainly reacted as soon as it happened and i know i cringed at the tackle and waited for the whistle so apparently most people know the rules. Just takes commentators who don't know them to rant on about it to influence other people into thinking that somehow that happens all game and the refs are inconsistent. "The hundred other" times it happens during a game are clearly different. It is usually when a player is still driving his legs forward for further progress or is twisting looking for an offload. In those situations the play is still alive and an opposition player is well within his rights to tackle him down.

I think the refs have been pretty consistent with this one ever since notice went out. Clearly the commentators need it explained to them though.

Poor, but when a team like the Tigers has a bit of "buzz" about them they generally get all the calls. No one expected the Warriors to win last night and no one wanted them to win. Tigers should have been 20 in front at half time. Credit to the Warriors for getting back into it the way they did.

But they won't pose a problem for the Storm next week.

No-one wanted them to win? What planet have you been living on? Did you not see all the Maori's in the crowd peforming their own version of the Haka?

I think you'll be surprised in regards to the Storm game - look at our record against them..We also beet them in the home and away season..

OK - thanks for that - was just going on what they said.....

So Lockyer has three plates screwed into his face and every Manly player is going to "leave Lochy's face alone"... Pleaseee, it's a professional game, not one commentator, on CH9 this morning, bagged Hodges for that tackle. In fact it is obvious in slow replays that hodges pulled the tackle. If you wanted him to put two touchy hands on him, go to the park and watch a game of touch. Recognize the game for what it was...one of the best ever regular season games for years. Well done St George and Broncos for the GEM game. The rest of you, toughen up.
