Both teams are playing extremely well right now but at the end of the day I think the Mavs will take it. The Heat haven't really had to deal with a team like the Mavs this playoffs yet with their great depth, experience & sharpshooters. 76's obviously were way too inexperienced & didn't have enough talent to compete against the Heat, Celtics had the experience but struggled after that Perk trade & had no reliable big man to replace him & whilst they had a couple of good shooters in Ray Ray & Pierce, the Mavs have a stack of them & I don't think the Heat have enough pieces to stay on the shooters & contain Dirk at the same time.

I think they'll be fine on the shooters. The shooters are mainly from the wings. LeBron plays nearly the entire game, Wade plays a lot. Miller is a good defender as well. I'm more worried about JJ Barea and Dirk than the shooters. The Heat do a good job rotating and closing out. If the Mavericks get hot, they get hot - live and die by the 3 isn't a good gameplan for them though..

No it isn't... but if they go cold they have the luxury of Dirk, penetration & Kidd to find everyone in the right position. So I wouldn't really call them a live by the three, die by the three team.
 
Interesting question raised on ESPN. Who deserves to win the ring more? Lebron or Dirk? If you believe that the NBA is rigged, then Yoda and the Jedis should topple Darth Vader and the Dark side. Would the commish stoop that low? It would be such a feel good story for the Mavs for redemption after their 06 collapse and winning the rings for the veterans at te twilight of their careers.

Yeah I'm not saying that they are. But I think it's going to be a lot harder for the Mavericks to dominate from the perimeter in a half-court game than people realize. The Heat are by and large the best defensive team they will have faced all playoffs, and are so sharp and succinct in the half-court. I think if the Mavericks get hot from 3 and kill the Heat from there it will be in transition on pull-ups before the defense is set, hence it's important the Heat execute well offensively.
 
Agreed, I guess it means we get them as healthy as they're gonna be. I heard Dirk basically say if he doesn't win this he'll hang himself (in so many words!!).
 
I saw an interview with Dirk prior to the season starting. He was adamant that this is the Mav's year. He is almost there. So much determination in his eyes.
 
Just saw an interview with LBJ and he said he will be guarding Dirk. Surprised they are not going with Bosh.

Either way they are not going to be able to stop Dirk getting his shots off - he is to big and to good.
