Best record in the NBA, Season Sweep and the end to another winning streak for the Green Machine!!!!

2 Times this season we've messed up their winning streak!

No championship last season, but we got bragging rights this season. :)

But bragging rights is just as good for now!!!!

Man that was a tense game going for a run now let out some pressure!!!!!

I will be back tho to disect this one with the help of OZ and others!!!:thumbsup:

Oh ship yeah, I'd take that ring any ol' day! :v:

3 of 4 times we've swept the Celtics in our season series we've gone on to win it all. I'm not saying it's just gonna come to us, but I'm loving those odds! :)

Damn, where do I start? :woot:

It would appear that the turnovers killed them tonight if you want to write off a loss at home like that, and it's not far from the truth (no pun inteded), but on a night where Kobe has an overall average night from the field, as a team we shoot under 50% from the line giving up 22 easy points where we usually convert, come off a back to back road game missing our Big guy once again to take on the reigning champs on their home court... then I'd say there's more to worry about than just trunovers.

Who says we don't play defense? I've read that the Lakers downplay to their opponent and it was evident tonight. Yes we give up too many points but nine times out of ten we get it done and that's why we're number 1 in the West and now number 1 in the NBA overall just ahead of Cleveland which makes mondays game something to mark on the Calendar. We're starting to work them out, we might not be the most defensive minded team in the league but we can get it done when it really counts. Closing the season series with a sweep is a great place to start. Picked alot of pockets and while the blocks were minimal, keep in mind we're playing our starting Power Forward at Center once again. Boston's bad shooting performance can't be put down to just that. Twice we closed out a game in the final seconds to stop some final looks and succeeded both times. Pierce was well covered by Kobe and Allen couldn't get his shot in OT. =D>

Kobe was aggressive early, I liked that. He didn't over do it and went missing for awhile there after the half but reigned down contested threes when it counted like it was nothing. Gasoft? not sure who that is, but Gasol showed us all why he's an All-Star tonight putting up 24 points and grabbing 14 boards. This is the Gasol we want to see more of. He's putting up great numbers lately, keep doing what you're doing! Odom got into trouble but didn't halt his input, made some key baskets down the stretch in the third and fourth and even better getting Garnett in trouble, like Rondo and Paul tried on Kobe. How about our big three? Combining for 70 points! That's what I'm talkin' about!

Garnett fouling out hurt them bad. We did a great job of taking it to him and getting him into trouble. The last foul was a little soft but you don't get yourself in that situation when you got 5 on you. I say keep it up with the pushing and shoving you usually get away with, keep standing over players after calls when the clock is stopped. Lakers ain't scared no more and the refs are catching on to the dirty off ball plays that KG has in the past gotten away with and it showed tonight... [-X All that aside I respect KG's abilities, it's beatuiful thing to watch him play and do what he can and does do for a team. :v:

I wouldn't say the bench won this for us but they did come through in a sense. Farmar and Vujacic hitting those back to back three's when we needed them was perfect. Good to see J Farm showing aggression, he's been a little quieter since the injury but he showed glimpses of what he can do. Josh Powell is one cool cat. Great defensive presence and can hit that long range J when the defense slacks or focus' on our 'go-to' guys. Great addition. Wait until our bench is clicking like earlier in the season and then it's on. Anyone else glad the Radman sat out? Someone's been watching tapes from last season! Thank you Phill!

Probably the best game I've seen this season. Lakers proved tonight that they can get by just fine without Bynum for the remainder of the season. The kid has vowed to be back for playoffs so let's hope they can all click together when it counts like they did tonight. If they do, Nothing can stop them. Way to close out a road series and way to end another Celtic streak. I was hoping for at least 4 out of 6 games in this stretch but now I say 'Bring on Cleveland'!!! What a game that will be and once again, Live on Ten HD!

Yeah I'm talking but we got something to talk up now and more importantly, something to look forward to. I'll be watching the replay of this one tonight for sure with Jack in hand. ;)

(P.S.) BOSTON SUCKS!!!!!

That is all....

Great game, the Lakers have really hyped themselves up this year, if they don't make it to the finals at least it'll be a major dissapointment.

Although I can't see Denver or any of the teams really hassling them, only San Antonio will be able to force them to at least 6.

Great game, they are rolling, if they keep this up maybe Kobe has a case to be back-to-back MVP? Gasol definately to make All-NBA 2nd or 3rd.

Exciting game, but interesting to see the intensity drop off towards the end. Both teams looked tired, with the Lakers initially in OT looking for a lazy put away with 3s. Kobe looked awesome in patches, Gasol good (but should have made the fast break in the last minute a 3 pt play). Feels good to get the series sweep against the pure arrogance of Boston.

Just a couple of random points before bed:

- Lakers hit their FTs and this one is over in normal time.
- Lakers now own the best record in the league =D>
- Celtics players continue to confuse whinging and cheap shots with 'passion'...there is a reason they lead the league in techs.
- The Celtic crowd is both ignorant and dumb. It is sad that a club with such a tradition has a stadium full of jerks who can't appreciate a good play when they see it...they need to take a lesson from the Knicks fans. Another misplaced notion of 'passion'...not a basketball fan amongst them...totally classless.
- Celts gave up 100 points again (4 out of their last 6 games)...which we all know now means they can't play any form of D ;)

Your spot on there mate!!
Are Boston the New Phoenix???Giving up all those points and still losing??:razz::razz:

How clutch was Kobe hitting 3 Triples in the last QTR....Still alot of improvement to be done..Especially with Drew being out..Ariza needs to look at his shot selection Jordan is coming along nicely since his injury so we can only get better..I really dont see any team beating us in a 7 game series in the west Spurs may push us to 6......

So in saying that lets bring on the Cavs should be another good game..
I was hopefull at the start of this road trip hoping for maybe a 3-3 record but now i reckon we can go 6-0!!!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Game Time! :woot:

Kobe drops 60 plus on New York, Bron Drops 50 plus on New York, let's see what they can do against each other and more importantly for their teams respectively. Cavs undefeated at home... :-k

Well there's a first time for everything. Will be tough in Cleveland but we handled them pretty well the last time around in a game where Bron and Kobe had average performances considering what they're capable of.

Here's hoping this next 2 and half hours is just as entertaining and satisfying as the time we spent in Boston the other day.

What a way to round off the road trip with a dub in Cleveland. Get it done Lakers. =D>

go Bron show Kobe why you deserve the MVP

Don't you mean; 'go Bron show Stern why you deserve a triple double'?

You know me too well mate so I'll leave it at that. ;)

Big Z and Mo Williams are killing us right now. Gasol just doesn't have the height to stop those long range J's Ilgauskas can hit but he's taking it to him on the other end. What do you do about Mo? Fish is too slow to face up gaurd, will beat him off the dribble every time and Farmar's just not there at the moment, tried to take it at him a couple times and has beaten himself mentally since he missed that lay up. Put it behind you and come at strong in the third.

Bron's pretty quiet on the offensive so far but that means nothing if it's only half time, done well ditributing. Kobe shotting pretty well so far but still low numners, you can tell he's crook, obviously struggling to breathe. Good interview just now between the two franchise stars.

A whole half of basketball remains, we're not out of it just yet. Step it up fellas... =D>

Odom is coming through strong tonight on both ends; 26 points and 15 boards. That's the way to do it. Down 10 at the half, go on an 11 and 0 run to take a 5 point lead in the fourth.

Great game by the boys, huge thrid quarter by odom somthing like 13 points and 10 boards. Both Kobe and Bron both struggled but i really think Gasol and Odom were the difference.

Who wants to play the Laker when they have a nice winning streak going??...lol You would be better off playing the lakers when u have a 10 game losing streak then you'll probably win.

Todays game gave us the win but even better than that is the season series now against the C's and the Cavs, could prove huge come playoffs.

Great confidence from Coach Jackson to play the bench with Pau at Center for the first 6 minutes of that last quarter, they came in when called and kept that lead. Depth get's mentioned alot but we do have it. =D>

A quiet 19 from Kobe where he was clearly ill, still managed to hit some nice contested shots when needed. Odom stepped up to the challenge and had his best pefromance of the season grabbing boards at will, taking it to the hole and playing some nice defense. Shut down Big Ben on a few dunks that shoulda been gimme's. We should have him Mic'd up everynight. =D> :worthy:

Also props to Pau, had a decent first half and really shut down Bron a few times from getting to the hole. On a night where he's struggling from the field it's vital for him getting inside, majority of the time he tried Pau was right there with the help defense.

6 of 6 in this roadtrip, we lose the big guy and still manage to top the 2 best teams in the East with 2 streaks ended whilst we roll on through!!!

A couple games hosting the Thunder and then in Utah, then bring on All-Star Weekend!!!

Like i said teams with losing streaks have more of a chance against the Lakers, i think the thunder will push especially since we dont normally get 2 great games in a row from either Odom or Gasol and Kobe may still be ill.

I agree with you mate, we tend to go to sleep on some teams, hopefully the Thunder game won't be one of the sleepers, that would be the ultimate slap in the face right now after all they've done this last week and a bit. I can imagine Kobe will be out also and If so I hope they rest him right through for the break. Gasol has found form and has to carry that on. Losing Bynum he's stepping it up and I think he'll keep it up. Haven't seen Green play so looking forward to that, hopefully Odom can shut him down and as you basically said, not slack off and think his work is done.

Would be good if our bench guys can step in and make some noise while getting some more playing time than they're use to. Hoping to see Morrison suited up and would like to see Sun being called upon to play some basketball and not just pressured to get 2 points in garbage time.

Also can't wait to see Farmar and Westbrook face up, I doubt we'll need Fish out there for too long so will be good seeing the 2 former Bruins on the same floor. Oklahoma City are a young and tallented team, and even though they're struggling they would love nothing more than to upset the top dog and see that as a challenge worth showing up for.

I don't mean to sound arrogant but contain Durant and we got it. ;)

Odom with a HUGE game. Poor shooting night for Lebron, 5/20 is miserable from the field.

Kobe going 8/17 despite being sick and finishing with 19.

Definately a good game for the Lakers but I don't think it means THAT much with Z only just coming back from injury and Delonte out.

When both teams are fully healthy would be a different story.

YES Bynum is out as well, but Gasol and Odom are more than capable of doing a Gasol and Bynum.

Whereas Delonte out is a big void in the backcourt.

Just under six hours to go until todays game against the Thunder, why not take a look back at our last 2 games? Perhaps the best and toughest back to back wins we'll get this season, they managed to closed out our best and most successful road trip in 9 years and turn/upset a few heads and streaks along the way against 2 very dominant teams. =D>

Definitely 2 wins worth celebrating for Laker fans. Couldn't be any more happy with that road trip, aside from the fact that Drew has gone down again, but he'll be back when we need him.

Last but not least - Odom, the unsung hero in that road trip who's actually playing like 'The Goods' of late, talking about todays game and the tallented young Thunder roster;
