I made a deal on another board a few weeks with a french member, who is a member here also and because of his attitude im going to call him out

member name, SCOT

we made a deal for a bunch of low end stuff, mostly Clarence Weatherspoon and Derrick Coleman for me and i sent him a few #'d inserts and a GU card

Now his cards havent been received, obviously lost in the mail, and hes having a go at me telling me i have to send him new cards, now my question lies here...Is it my fault if cards are lost in the mail? Surely 300+ feedbacks over 4 different sites is enough to show im not trying to rip people off? Ive even had a succesful deal with him before...Man im annoyed....Not so much that they were lost, but his attitude

???
we have made a deal that means i receive for you and i send you cards.
You have received the cards a long time ago and i don t received the cards and you ask where is the problem??
either you send me other cards or i don t know, if you have a better idea lmk.

Thats the last message i got from him.

Im just asking him for his address and sending his cards back, but what a wanker

Its been about 3 weeks....I dont even care that its lost, and i would have sent him something else, but i dont like his attitude, and ive contacted an Admin there, to see what he says...

It took a long time for a package to get from here to the Phillipines for me in a trade on another forum. This was a while back though, but it did eventually turn up, so it worked out for me. There just might be some delays in it arriving.

It doesn't really matter if you have 300 or 3000+ feedback if you recieved your cards and he didn't recieve his and u didnt pay for registered or insured mail then YOU are in the wrong not him. And it's up to you to send him more cards (registered) or send the cards you recieved back to him.
I have no idea what exactly your are complaining about? Except the fact that his attitude could have been better.

Yes half the reason i was complaining was his attitude and b) we cant send registered O.S. so you wanna explain how i was going to do that Shoes?

U actually can send courier'd registered to anywhere in the world (at a cost) or at least send insurance so if anything is lost you can claim and even make money off Aus Post :)

I got this from another thread:
I bought one of those $10+ international registered envelopes & packaged the cards inside in bubble wrap & I was told that it was "too thick" & I would have to use the larger "$17" one......

I don't know if I've seen them, but I know we can insure mail.

When trading, if you don't agree on sending Registered/insured mail, how could you be held responsible?

You have a receipt that shows you sent an item off International? That's about the best you can do.

That is a good point...But like i said IF HE HAD BEEN NICE about it i wouldnt have even cared, i would have just sent his cards back but he has been quite rude about it, like its my fault, thats what im annoyed about

If they agreed on registered and he didn't send registered, yes. But if they were both sending by regular mail and the item/s get lost, it's can't be blamed on the sender, as long as he has proof he sent them.

you're not to blame matty - if people don't agree to or pay for the insurance you can't be blamed.

I sent a card to the Netherlands recently and it took 1 full month. The buyer kept asking where is it etc etc (well within the rights) and I just said please be patient, allow 6 weeks and if it doesn't show then I'll issue a refund.

Just tell them to wait another 2 weeks, and if nothing happens just send the cards back + some bonuses as goodwill insured.

Now Matty you know I'm all about fair and I know you would have treated fairly... but and please don't hate me for this... I think you over reacted regarding his attitude - I didn't read any attitude - merely a language barrier. At least that's how I perceived it.

But yeah... if you guys did not agree to send registered insured whatever you cannot be held liable for lost mail... you can however show good will, which you would have if you had not been offended by his PM.

Hi MattyJ,

I dont think he's really got some attitude there. Maybe its the way you take his wordings, I dont know... but he did asked you to tell him if you have any other idea.

I agree with this post, the last line he used was don't know what to do,but if "you" have any ideas let him know, to me that means he understands that it was an unfortunate incident, but he's left with nothing I guess. And yeah, if it wasn't agreed to send registered then you aren't to blame too. If you're both good blokes though you'll work something out.

Ok it might be a language barrier, but, did you notice he didnt ask for his cards back but asked for other cards to be sent to him?...I will be returning his cards, but like i said, more dissapointed in his attitude (or perceived attitude), the total BV of the cards was like $15 or something, with an ebay sell value of about $2, its not like we are talking high end cards here or anything....Now if this guy was a true ozcarder (and remember he IS a member here) wouldnt he just let it slide? I mean how many people on this site have sent free cards worth A LOT more than these cards to people not expecting anything in return? I know i have sent out a lot of free cards, and AJ, you can vouch for that....

I sure can vouch for that mate - you're a top notch ozcarder :)

Tend to agree here, I'd be concerned like anyone if my cards hadn't arrived. He didn't use any exploitive language or unrealistic demands. I'd just be recommending some patience and if all else fails send his cards back if something can't be resolved.

Seriously, how can anyone think it's reasonable form to do the naming-and-shaming thing? It always ends poorly, and often ends up with both parties looking the worse for it.
