I think selects communication has gone down hill, there was a post the other day someone had pulled a high flyer from a pack and it had started peeling at the top just like 90% of them they were known for doing it, so they contacted select to see if they could have it replaced only to be told NO We haven’t had a single complaint about the high flyers, which was a straight up lie as people were commenting on post with screen shots of complaints they sent to select about the cards, they could certainly do a lot better that’s for sure

They now say you can’t replace cards or can use their ticketing system or whatever it is send a photo and have it assessed. I cannot understand why they would not replace current yr cards if they were badly damaged straight from a pack . I even said this to them as many of us spend thousands you should be able to replace badly damaged cards and it is wrong not to at least assess it.

Interesting discussion on price of boxes. Atm the bixes are driven by the demand from breakers.

At 600 a box just to break even (and takinginto account postage) the breaker has to price the teams at roughly $38 each for a one box break. So to make it worth their while and say 100 profit they need to price at $45.

I personally think thats the limit and in order to maintain value for money the cards that cone out are going to have to significantly hold their value!

I just dint see it realistically going any higher than 600ish in 6 months time unless some of the rookies go beserk

Brilliance goes for $700 a box, I wouldn't be counting on the boxes staying below that.

Yep and they were only $150ea to start with, I think Optimum boxes will be close $1000ea in a few months time.

Encourage people to share the contents of their boxes in here so that a realistic assessment of the average value in each box can be made based on the resell value of it contents.

Let's make value of these boxes be driven by facts/numbers rather than hysteria.

I think we will see an intial spike but then have it settle around the 600-650 mark. I get the feeling with AFL that once the next set comes out, the previous sets lose a little gloss.. recent example would be prestige 2021 - of course I stand to be corrected, I have done zero research before posting this

I am still sticking by 500-600.

Once people see that the avg box is pulling $200 of value, the boxes will dive.

The cap was nice but I won’t wear it. Accessories or a Club photo card of the Heritage round where a photo is taken of the competing team before the match or something similar would be cool instead. Other things I would like would be bring back box cards and have the common series done in ladder order from previous yr with the Premiership side having extra cards perhaps even a limited common team card.

But people won't see that the avg box pulls $200 of value, they'll see that 1:10 or 1:20 or whatever it is pulls a $1k Influential, Dusty medal winner or dual sig, and that will keep the values high.

Brilliance boxes still sell for $700-800 and realistically there's only a handful of Brilliance cards that would sell for more than that. The vast majority of Brilliance singles including Crows, Lions, Swans, Demons, GWS, GC, St Kilda, Fremantle, NM etc are worth nowhere near $700-800 but people will always take the gamble that they can win big.

People who signed up for the SCC membership knew exactly what was on offer and that was 1 guaranteed box for every release in the year. If they are complaining that they missed out on both drops, they are in the same boat as everyone else and not entitled to anything whatsoever. They got their one box and that is more that can be said for a LOT of people right now.

I think your Optimum parallel and plus are bit too high but that's countered by the two signatures per box, with a very good chance one being better than a copper.
