- 21 Rookies (only 12 per box)

Above is the Topps Breakdown, you are GUARANTEED ONE AUTO per box, I didn't get this ONE auto so I believe I should do something because it's false advertising!

Also below, is the advertisement on Westriots (the seller) webpage,

This is a factory sealed Hobby box of 2006-07 Topps Chrome NBA Basketball Trading Cards. There are 24 packs per box, and 4 cards per pack. Look for (1) Rookie Autographed Card, (12) Rookie Cards, (1) Autographed Rookie Refractor, (1) Autographed Veteran/Retired Refractor in every box on average! Look for key rookies such as Andrea Bargnani, LaMarcus Aldridge, Adam Morrison, Tyrus Thomas, Shelden Williams, Brandon Roy, Randy Foye, Rudy Gay, J.J. Redick and many more!!! These boxes are loaded with serially limited parallels, patches, and autographs and are case fresh! This box is factory sealed, unopened, unsearched, and the real deal. Why pay $119.95 plus postage for the retail version which takes 21 days to arrive from overseas? Get the proper version here new, cheaper and fast!

His above description says I should receive 3 Autographs!

So I have two different issues here:

1) Topps states I am guaranteed one autograph and I received none, should I get in touch with Topps and take action?!

2) Westriot had an incorrect item description which said 3 autographs would be in the box on average, so even if not 3, I should have at least received 2 or even possibly 4, because the average is not exact. Should I contact Westriot and ask for something back because of false advertising?!

Anyone who's smart and has been here for a long time and dealt with these situations, please help me out because I'm only young and have never been in this situation before!

It may take some effort helping, but like we all say, this is Ozcards and we help each other!

Definetly contact topps via phone/email, they will ask you to quote the box's serial number, and you should be compensated! :D

Yeah go topps. I prob would not have understood it as 3 autos per box through westriots description and if I did I would have done a lottle more research because the box was quite cheap.

Agreed....Westriot is a known good seller and this is obviously a Topps issue....

Definitely contact them....

Should have researched it more before you bought it, or asked questions first. Contact Topps about the missing auto, and maybe advise Westriot that his description is wrong and he should change it.

well, most of the stores said 1 rookie auto per box.

actually, the box with The Stache on the cover.. it says

one rookie auto card in each box... so there must be an auto...

you should write to topps...

OK guys, I'm going to email topps, and see if I can get something back, is customer service on the topps.com website the best way?

By the way, the first post I have up there was voicing my thoughts after a shocking break, in NO way is it a negative reflection of Westriot or the boxes he sells as he's a great communicating dealer who is 100% reliable.

Will keep you all informed.

Jim

Hello,
I did sell the Hobby box as i don't think the retail box is out. And its cheap because i don't think its right to charge exorbitant profits on the hobby.

And in this case, i think there is something wrong at the factory level, as he got no auto but an inordinate number of rookies, nearly double the average amount. So its a pretty good guess that the factory packaging process was compromised.

thanks westriot, i'll keep you informed with the information.

thanks for your great cooperation.

Does anyone know the email for topps, I tried going onto their official website, can't find anything.

Who knows how to email them or write online to get in touch?

Jim

Strangely, i did not see any forms or email address to contact them.. i even registered to see if there's any options for registered user... topps think only people in European and N/S Americas collect cards apart from United States???

Quite absurb..!!!

usually support@topps.com could be the one, coz on their online store, etopps, they listed the email support@etopps.com for any issues with their online store.. so try support@topps.com

hope that helps

Where does it say it is GUARANTEED ?
I doubt they would GUARANTEE it ?!?

Normally they have something in small writing to say nothing is guarenteed !

dude it says on the box, ONE ROOKIE AUTOGRAPH PER BOX

it doesn't say "MAYBE ONE ROOKIE AUTOGRAPH PER BOX" or "PROBABLY ONE ROOKIE AUTOGRAPH PER BOX".. seriously.

I understand where you are coming from but technically that is NOT a guarentee :(

Somehwhere you will probably find (in small print) something like this:

Stated Odds reflect an average of the entire production run; no ratio guarentee to exist within an atual box or case !

look richo, obviously you haven't even read this whole thread mate.

it's not one of the odds.

it states, that there is "ONE ROOKIE AUTOGRAPH CARD IN EVERY BOX!"

now if you don't know how to interpret that properly, than i can't explain it any better.

on the chrome breakdown they don't even list the odds for a rookie autograph, because they are meant to be inserted one per box as a minimum.

it's not odds. geez.

Oh I have read the thread mate, no need to get upset ! I am simply saying where does it state it is GUARENTEED ??? Nothing is guarenteed in life, least of all 1 signature per box because there is human and machine error to take into account. Yes I know it said 1 per box and Yes I agree it isn't fair but at the end of the day if Topps Guarenteed it how could they police it ?

I hope you are right and they send you one but if I was a betting man (which I am ) I would say you will get a sorry but we don't guarentee this as a response !

Good luck with it champ :)
Regards

Whats the fine print on the box though?

It probably says something like On average for completed print run

I agree with Richo here.

They are "normally" an average of the total print run.

Since you were only "guaranteed" 12 Rookies will you have to send the other 9 back?

I think there is a factory error here and you need to contact Topps but I'm guessing you will be very lucky if they do something out of goodwill for you
