2013 ESP Elite NRL Cards Thread (Updated 5/8/13)

Hope they haven't wasted the Broncos under 20s on Timu. Couldn't be bothered paying a few hundred bucks for a card of a bloke going on a 2 year morman mission.

i think your undervaluing the sigs. if the young guns go for 200 or even 150 on average. these league sensations should go for alot more. time will tell though

The hits in this series is the same as Limited Edition...but only 1/2 the signatures of this release are 1st grade players. Limited Edition had all international player. on release they got around $130 to $150 each & 2 to 4 weeks later they dropped to $50 to $70 & have now stabled out at around $70 to $80 each. I know these were not number & we don't know how many were produced but the fact remains that the bulk off them are still in the warehouse unsold. I have heard figures of between 65% to 70% so in knowing that that makes the signature cards out there still ltd in No's circulating.
I've worked out that there will be 625 to 630 cases of Elite based on the signature cards they are claiming to release. We also know that they will hold back about 50 of each signature cards of each player giving them the option to increase prodution to 800 cases if they choose. The only thing that will stop them from using the spare signature cards is if they print on them out of ie:---/130 or whatever they decide to limit them to & just use them for replacemet for damaged cards & that equates to 39%. That just seems a bit to high for damaged cards to be holding back that % of high end cards.

I can answer that George. Terry told me on Saturday that all players that sign in the series get a full master set.

So that accounts for those extra cards that are signed. So that would account for 36 extra signed cards.

And you cant compare this series to Limited Edition. We all know there were around 400 of those signature and jersey card made. There are a hell of a lot less in this series and they are numbered.

I think they should sell well and i reckon this whole series should be pretty hot.

Crikeys, even at an average of $150 each thats a lot of $$$ worth of cards to each player! How does that work with the numbering? Or is it just "Player" like Select?

Good question - forgot to ask. I was more trying to think of what i could say to get my hands on one.:D

We were talking to Robbie O'Davis and he said Dynamic used to do the same thing.

I think i recall someone mentioning that happened with the 2004 Captain Sigs as well, the player issued ones just didnt have a number stamped on them. Still, wouldnt carry it around in my back pocket...

I would guess that the player issued ones aren't numbered? That would mean that despite a card being numbered to 130...there could actually be 166 in circulation (36 not numbered to the players)

Didn't those 2004 captain sigs get given to the players in a frame? Either that or someone had a set framed, I remember seeing it on eBay.

Scandal, there's actually 56 2004 Captain sigs! (55 of the Gower  ).

ill have you know it still exists, just with an almighty fine crease across the middle. oh well brplat has it now, im sure it still looks good in the pc from a distance.

Ok that explains why 180 were signed... Now we can expect most of the master sets those players got will eventually get sold or auctioned off... just like all the framed 2004 Captain cards.

Even though there maybe 400 each of those signatures the bulk are still sitting in the Warehouse in packets unsold or in circulation & the amount that have been pulled would be similar to the amount to be released in Elite. Still find it hard to believe they wont be worth what everyone are predicting, time will tell who is right & who is wrong, lets see what happens 4 to 6 weeks after the release because I don't think this series will sellout & ESP have yet to tell the truth about their prerelease info..

oh so you have it now, well yeah my pop. he got it for me, and not realising what it was worth, straight in the back pocket and sat on it
