ESP NRL Traders 2013 Sneak Peak UPDATED WITH NEW IMAGE

The replication of player photos goes right back to the eighties, so definitely not a new thing. However, if we were to replicate past cards, why not a return to action shots. Then as collectors, we have a snapshot in time that can last forever.

They are action shots in this release aren't they?

Not sure what you mean?

Gosh, the new members you refer to are driving me round the bend. Probably just Wangy trolling.

The replicated photos are nothing new, Select did it across sets and so did the tazos. I think you're all dreaming if you expect ESP to track down sets of Dynasty to check they weren't reusing any photos from it - but hopefully they don't reuse any photos from their own releases in future.

Hi James

Is every member not entitled to have an opinion?

If a product was right, I think the majority of peoples opinions would be positive but as it is peoples opinions there would still be those of the opinion that they didn't like it for what ever reason but that would be their opinion of which they are entitled to aren't they?

It would be interesting to hear Wangys opinion, so if you are trolling Steve, let's have your opinion please

And yup could have used opinion a little more but it was my opinion not to

He means not with the background rendered out.

True.

There is history in the background of photos - opposition players, tacklers, team mates, advertising, the colour of the grass...you name it.

In my view common/base cards are not meant to be photo-shopped - save that for the insert subsets, if that is your want, so to speak.

Yeah i agree. Still love the action photography that some of those Scanlens set had.

Yup for sure I know what you mean

The reason for the double ups on photos could be partly because of the photoshopping of backgrounds. There might only be one suitable photo of a player not being tackled or obstructed in some way that they can use in these type of designs.

The other option is for the card manufacturer to wait for the season to start to have new photos but then people would complain because the cards aren't out before the season starts.

With Buderus, that's about all he does all game so it might be difficult to snap him doing anything else:lol:

No changes as yet.....but it's still early days.

I will be grabbing a folder and box of these for my son who is about the same age i was when i started getting into footy cards. Will give him a couple of packets at a time when he has earned them via good manners, chores, helping out in general :)

i buy them all for the kids as well, i dont chase the expensive ones yet for them as they will only get damaged  but same principle they do well at something they receive :)

 and they know how to haggle too the little ....buggers hahahahaha

we usually open packs together so i can show them the safest ways etc how to handle them etc and if they hit something they usually go "WOW its a shiney one, what is it" they then hand it to me and do a victory dance of some sort.............Now thats what collecting is all about :)

the parallels are exciting for the 1st few packs but then its "its just another one of those" type of things, but the colourful shiney ones are the go and if it is one of their teams its like a full production of grease or something
