Personally i think that with all these up market cards and boxes it's hard for people with no income or low income to keep up. It makes me as a young collector make my collections look like crap

If you have pride in your collection, it will not look like crap. I have some cards i never thought i would have that are amazing but i still respect and cherish the base cards too.

Its actually your fault I am now collecting warriors (well I have been tempted for a while) cause I was checking out COMC to see if they had any of your wants so i could link you and i saw the weatherspoon warriors autographics lol That got me looking at warriors cards lol

I had a member on here ask 'why I was so poor' the other day,

Someone seriously said that? Without knowing the context, thats still pretty low.... I have spent good money on my V. Brown collection and still do although I am patient and don't overpay. I like boxes as it's the luck of the draw, rarely spent more than $60-70 on one though. I mainly buy NFL cards with the odd NBA. Also some AFL for my 6yr old son. If there was more NFL here, I'd be more active with buying/trading (I have bought one PC card here since Ive been here. I used to frequent 4 boards (2 music, here and Chargers board) Since Ive been working full time I only have time for this board as a contributing member. This board is def head and shoulders over any other board Ive been a part of. Great bunch of people, great vibe and no issue using my real name. My point is I actually don't come here to buy/trade, Ebay is my only real option with NFL however, even without buying and trading on here much I still feel part of the hobby just by accessing this forum as there is a lot more to the hobby than just cards (in my opinion anyway). If financially you are limited in what you can do within the hobby, but still enjoy this community, just hang out but if it is mostly about trading, etc then I understand your frustration, however in my view leaving the hobby would mean leaving everything else to do with it (inc. this board) and that would suck

Exactly what he said... I love my Cousins collection. I could EASILY sell what I have now and more than double my money but I like it too much. Although, it's getting a little expensive to add to it now.

you bring up a valid point. I have spent all day on this forum in between sorting out some wolves cards, and its the best I have felt in ages. I have a lot going on that I won't bore people with, suffice to say its been getting me down and probably influencing how I feel about this hobby with regards to my patience in trading etcetera, as it has been influencing the rest of my life.

I am grateful and thankful to those i have shared conversation with and actually started trade conversations with today because i can say today has been the first good day in over a week.

This forum is heads above others I have been to.

LOL... It's funny because it doesn't even make sense. Why would a girl have a basketball card collection?!

You do realise that I wasn't meaning to do the thats what she said joke... I was actually correcting you, I am a chick, with an INSANE timberwolves collection lol

some body bring me some water (personal joke)

:kick:

I think Matty might be burning alive with embarrassment right now lol

im going through a lot of my stuff and giving as much timberwolves stuff as i can here mate.....so hang on, you'll have an instant injection to your collection soon....

Mate I'm a much bigger NFL fan then NBA, but as you said the buyer/seller market is just nowhere near strong enough to make it worthwhile. Now if the Bengals can sort out that rice paper defense...

So this was all a subliminal ploy to get people to trade with you...you crafty bastard, lol.

A few things to keep in mind:

1 - Most of the people who buy on here ARE NOT looking for the cards you are selling, but, at a CHEAP price, they will grab it to trade in the future. This is considered lowballing sometimes, but it is just simple reality.

This is the reason I don't submit offers. Like I said previously it's all about V. Brown PC pretty much for me and select singles. Then say I look in the selling NBA forum and see a card the seller wants $25 plus delivery for and I think to myself. Well, If it was $15 I'd buy it, but I don't want it that bad as Id rather spend $25 on something PC, but if seller would take $15 (say $20 dlvd) I'd take it... nah, fuck it I then think, don't want to hear him/her cry in a thread about "lowballers" so I just leave it. I hope some of the seller here who are whinging about lack of offers/buyers are not the same ones who then whinge about lowballers... Here's the thing, I am happy to pay full market (ebay) value in most cases on a PC card but in other cases (like with NBA auto's of players from the early 90's etc) they are not PC, I will not pay in relation to market value for them what I would PC so unless it is listed on here for a price that I would pay I just leave it...
