In Memory Of Ron (COMPO)

I didn't know he was unwell. Wow, all a bit of a shock.

Was great around the forums and I had several dealings with him over the years.

Many condolences and may he finally be pain free.

Rest in Peace Ron :( A month in pallative care is another sign of how much of a trooper he was. My thoughts are with your friends and family during this sad time

It seems appropriate to post this in the cricket forum, taken from Mark Nicholas' eulogy for West Indies great Malcolm Marshall:

"Many years ago, my mother suggested to me, in reference to a splendid school-teacher who had died, that in life one came across only a few truly special people. Lots of good'uns she said, plenty of fabulous folk, but only a few who are special."

Rest In Peace Ron, thankyou for being such a gentleman.

Well said Matt.

It is indeed sad to hear the news of Ron's passing, although he was physically small in stature he had was huge in heart and generosity.
May you rest in peace old mate, now pain free.
You are now sadly missed by your family at OCT

Regards Russell

Dreadful news Naz, I am sorry I have not been around the forums much in the past month or so and as a result I missed this thread entirely until now......you mentioned he was unwell but hearing he has passed away is horrible news.

As far as I was concerned Ron was an absolute pleasure to deal with, a thorough gentleman. I am saddened that I never had the chance to personally meet him. My thoughts are with his family, while he may finally be at peace it remains a very tough time for Shirley and the family. A sobering thought to us all that card collecting is a very very very small part of life.

Rest in peace Ron. This site has lost a great contributor within the cricket forums.
