The Official NEW YORK KNICKS thread

If NY can pick up CP3, amare & melo's numbers would go through the roof, & paul would avg 15-20 dimes per game

It would be a near on unstoppable force, :v:

Read that since NY have nothing to trade CP3 will have to play out this season and sign there next season as a free agent, and lose a heap of cash doing so.

One of the beat writers said his most likely destination would be Clippers but I dunno how that would work.

Gotta love rumours!

Knicks apparently close to signing Jeff Foster, though i don't really know why, we need a good strong proven Center, not one that has been warming the bench for years. JJ Barea has been saying he'd like to join the Knicks, again not a player we need with Douglas a better option as back up PG.

Who is gonna stop Bynum without Barea in the way!? :D

Roger Mason Jr has left the Knicks and will join the Wizards as a Free Agent.

According to a lot of news Tyson Chandler is about to sign with the Knicks and Billups will be traded away. More and more steps being put in place to get CP3 next year.

The though of having this roster below is mouth watering

CP3
Fields
Melo
Amar'e
Chandler <<<That's a championship team right there.

Thats a great starting 5 but no ring! And The Heat prove that..... You need at least 2 guys of the bench to really be able to make MASSIVE impacts in spurts, Dallas proved that this year. They won't be deep enough for that ring!!

Yeah the Knicks will be deep enough. Toney Douglas has proved already that he is a great spark of the bench. iman shumpert looks to be the goods though he is only a rookie, 1 more decent player from free agency to warm the bench and that's a few rings.

Heat didn't have strong players I every postion, this possible Knicks team has players that would start for 90% of the teams in NBA. Having said all that this is of cause all speculation.

Top team if it happens, even for this season and add the potential of Grant Hill to the mix and the team is a big chance this year let alone next year and afterwards.

This is exciting news and it's good to see some good decisions being made in the front office for a change.

Welcome to the Garden Tyson.:kick:

Hill has resgined with the Suns as of now.

Yep makes sense as the exemption would of been used for him but is going to be used on Chandler.

7 players signed turned up to Knicks camp today, Chandler will make 8 still need another 2.

Alot of talk about the Cavs moving Davis, Davis has come out saying he wants to be at the big apple but yet to see anything around the Knicks talking with him

Only concern for the line-up for me is the front court starting options + fields is ok, douglas is a concern as starting PG and of course depth. Amare, Chandler and Melo all struggle to play complete seasons and in the up tempo style it is taxing on the body during the transitional plays.

So now Ronny Turiaf has been sent to the Wizards it will see the other players sign from the various reports below is what has been put out about the player market

* Davis wants to come but is waiting on the Cavs to release him, haven't seen anything reported about an offer from the Knicks though either so say this is nothing
* Seen 2 reports of Iverson being offered min vets to join which would be very interesting but again can't see it
* Bibby has an offer but reports are he won't decide until the weekend, I wouldn't be against this to be honest
* Williams has been offered a 1yr deal to re-sign but has received multi-year offers from other teams so we may have to back-fill.
* Reports about Carter since he will be getting paid $4mil anyway but can't see that happening think its more wishful

Wow, have the knicks come full circle in the last year!

Knicks by far have the best front court in the NBA baring none.

Now if the do sign Bibby, which I am against and maybe can land Byron Davis as a PG (which I would think is a stretch) they would have one of deepest teams in the NBA. They can say Isiah Thomas is the real man behind this or whatever, but truth be told, they still have to learn to play with one another as a unit.

Bring on Christmas Day!

The Knicks are certainly moving nicely. I think they're looking to build a team to win it maybe next year or the year after so they still have some moves to make. They will definately be up there this year still.

I feel for Chauncey, he can ve valuable this year if he plays a little less mins and avoids some injuries. Who is after his signature??? A possible return to Boston? Surely a championship contender will try get him.

A Great Looking Team So Far now we only need a PG.

PG: ?
SG: Landry Fields
SF: Carmelo Anthony
PF: Amare Stoudemire
C: Tyson Chandler

^Mike Bibby will be the starting PG though I think Toney Douglas could do a much better job.

Really upset that we traded out Andy Rautins.

Nah, Melo is going to play point forward like Bird did with Boston before you were born!

Toney Douglas will be the PG..... He will be awesome on defense and will electrify the garden! :)

As for Billups, I don't feel bad for anyone who is 14 million dollars richer. Sorry mate, its a business and I am so tired of people going blah blah blah about their careers. He is 36 and should be happy that the Knicks picked up his option and didn't just buy him out for 4 million. He is 10 million more reasons to be whistling to the bank. He is a leader, but again, he is not worth that much money. He is an average player at best.

Really??? Bibby is not all that at all. I can only wish that he breaks his big toe stumbling off a curb outside of MSG and they never hear from him again. Another headache and I can not stand this move if they do sign him. Then again, I might be wrong! I just dont see it happening. TD has better defense and that is what they are gearing towards this year. Bibby is ehhh on defense and that is not going to cut it. As for Andy, he looks good in a suit at the end of the bench, however he did not have game.
