Hi,
I have an unusual request. For those that do not know I am a Primary School Teacher in Western Sydney. I teach many children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Over the last few years I have been giving out my cards (doubles) as rewards for effort. I dont usually give out anyhting of any value but the children get excited about whatever I give out. (I have been giving them NFL and MLB double for a few years)

They like all sports even those art cards or action figure cards that used to come out.

What I want to propose is if anyone has any commons that they just want to get rid of I am prepared to pay the postage or if close enough to western sydney pickup these commons to give to the kids.

They collect anything it doesnt matter. I would need to your bank details or PAYPAL email to get the shipping cost back to you.

I will ensure you that your cards will not be sold by me and will only go to the children.

I have a box (29cmx19cmx24cm) full of basketball (NBA and NBL) + some AFL i can give you but postage might run you a bit...let me know if youre intersted and i willfind out postage costs
 
I have done this to assist someone else's very similar request before and am happy to help.
As I have 3 boxes of old cards coming and one I did last week, in i intend to bust and only keep the 1:4pack inserts I will have a stack of about 1000 if you'd like. None will be of big value but I will include a few newer insert cards also which are worth a few bucks.

Am happy to post them for free. LMK if you'd like them (may not be for a week or 2)

I will also kick in some money to help pay for postage on the bigger lots. Can you send me your bank details?
 
Ha - I do the same thing!! I'm also a teacher!!! Kids love them!! Also runnign low - I gave out 2 KG's last week!!! However won't ask at this stage
 
I think we need to see some teachers ID cards or something seems every second person on the site is a teacher wanting to give out cards :) hahahaha:thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

But seriously, I have seen much less taken down and people having disciplinary action for having photos of children they work with, put up in a pubilc forum. Don't know what it is like in NZ, but you might want to be careful.

I've created webpages for all the classes at my school so have all the consents but know what yr saying...
 
Its funny you mention this ....
we now have to ban parents from taking pictures of any child except their own....

I run the schools website and it is incredibly difficult to publish pictures of children or of hteir work....

there are many restrictions on what we can do as teachers nowadays which is a little sad.....the era of litigation is upon us.....

To all the people who have contacted me so far I greatly appreciate your generosity. It shows why this forum is better than others it is all about the good (Honest) people who are here..

I tried to make sure I sent a PM to all the guys who offered to help out when I have your details I will get the $ out to you to cover your shipping costs I dont want anyone to be out of pocket...

I assure you these will be given to the children and they will definitley not be sold....

again it is great to see that generosity and goodwill are still alive in our great country....

Yeh and then you have to make sure you dont have too much information on each child so they cant be identified.......

U cant use video of chidren as often the kids give their names out and its a security issue.....

I just think school was more fun when I was a student.....it is becoming a bit difficult to make it fun all the fun seems to be 'legislated ' out....

don't even get me onto school rules. Kids can't do anything any more for fear of being sued
for example no climbing trees......
 
That's real sad to hear guys. I know exactly what yr talking about - the Americanisation of stuff down under - can't do anything for fear of being sued...
In NZ the kids can use their first names but no 2nd names. Our websites also can't be viewed without a password.
