im alittle upset how people are making insulting offers on cards worth 10 times more than the figure there throwing at you, just 1 example, 03-04 lebron rookie card auto bv is $500 ungraded, yet this is a bgs 9.5 with 10 auto, this card graded sells and has sold many times for between $680 and $900 and u offer me $190 including postage you know who u are ! what makes u think u can buy a card like that for $190 !!! then when i tell u thats low balling at its best u tell me i can buy 1 now for $250 on ebay from the usa !!! (SHOW ME THE LINK !! ) and if u can then go and buy it ! im not a charity, futher more and im sure u all would agree that proven sales prices on ebay and bv values do hold some truth to the value of a card so please guys save me the insult and ur embarisment by being a tightarse and trying to basically steal the cards instead of making a reasonble offer FFS:mad:

A bit more punctuation and spelling would help your argument lol

This is pretty common in the hobby but probably not to this extreme, especially surprised about being able to buy one for $250.
Would be pretty surprised if this was an experienced member though

to be honest mate it only seems to be on forums though because on ebay cards sell for bv most of the time and sometimes above bv depending on the card, however at least from my experience people give you fair offers, unlike here so many people expect inserts worth $100 for example for $20 including postage !!!! i have an inbox full of tightarse offers for cards worth 10x there offer, it just dosnt make sense to me, ive been collecting for over 20 years and i wasnt born yesturday either, another 1, jordan golden touch in gem mint condtion, bv $350 and he offers me $150 ! its just frustrating thats all, atleast be fair with ur offers and saying i will paypal gift it to u now after ur lame offer dosnt make me want to sell it at half the price lol

It's a part of the hobby mate! Everyone wants a bargain!

If you are gonna get upset to this point every time you get a low offer, it is not going to be an enjoyable hobby for you!

I get it all the time. People on their computers are far braver than people dealing in person. But seriously, just say 'no thanks, $XXX is my lowest' and move on!

and i do that however its like u insulted them with ur counter offer what do they want me to pay them to take my card

dam i love this post not into basketball cards but used my redundancy payout to buy cases of nrl/afl cards to keep me busy plus maybe make some pocket money till i get a job and a lot of people seem to think its upto me to finance their card collection lowballing tightarses

Look around eBay at cards other than the Jordans that are priced stupidly! There are a LOT of cards that sell for half BV or less! That Jordan example you just gave, would not be anything to get upset about, just decline if you don't want it?!?!?
BV means nothing these days!

Hmm of course on eBay they're auctions so they will sell to the current market value, but when you have an item selling with best offer, there are probably a lot more lowballers than on here.

Though one thing, BV doesn't mean much for most cards, you have some cards with BV of $100 which sell for $20, so eBay recently sold auctions are a lot better price gauge

You are right. Try selling something on ebay with best offer and you'll get unbelievable low ball offers! I just laugh it out and ignore it.

my thoughts exactly mate !

When you are talking about the most collected player and a graded card, it is different, but as a general rule, an offer of $150 cash on a card with $300BV is normal!

But I don't think it is necessary to make a negative thread about it! People will always look for a bargain! If you want to sell on places like this, you gotta get used to it!

Also, when you advertise a card with a 'value' of $10,000, and openly say that you will accept $4600 Buy It Now, why WOULDN'T people think that you would accept less than half BV on other cards???
