All of us NRL collectors must do this

I am surprised also, but do you think we could maybe add it to the selling thread to maybe get a bit more traction? I know normally the wrong place but i think this is a very important issue and Just thinking some people with limited time may only look at the for sale thread like I used to.

We need more people on this petition to let the NRL show we want these cards. It is up to all of you to sign this and if you choose not to, DO NOT COMPLAIN. Talked with TCM today and there is still a chance we may be able to get them. We must commit to this.
Moz, I spoke with Rosemary from TCM 3 weeks ago, she gave me a run down, it is all to do with the NRL WANTING ANOTHER ANOTHER 68K for a second licence.
It is all to do with the NRL.

Again there is a lack of communication which leads to disinformation, one thread it is the photographer and the letter from their lawyers, next thread it is the NRL and license fees........which is it, will we ever know?

Still if I ran a business such as this I would certainly know all my costs up front and wouldn't be ambushed half way through a release.

Daves' got his wires crossed again....
It's the Photographer, It's always been the Photographer. The NRL has the images, Can licence them - But never owns the artistic copyright.

Rob, As I said I was told from Tcm that the Nrl wants 68 k for a second licence,
You may well be correct in what you have said with the photographer, he probably has the rights and being an official nrl photographer holds any rights to the images he produces for them.
And having fullfilled his contract with the first lot of images is quite within his rights to negotiate another contract for any more images.
After all he is the one attending all the games, putting up with whatever weather conditions, putting up with some rude fans and doing the hard work.
He has to put bread and butter on the table just like us.

tcm should have done a better job in initial negotiations and made sure price was for all teams sounds like they were sucking and seeing and crossing fingers this don't help the fans although 68 k is a lot of money for the average joe is not a lot when u just signed mega mammoth tv deals nrl should look at the fans

It's not the NRL's job to pay for a private company that for whatever reason got their sums wrong.

It's far from TCM's fault...
They go to the NRL, And say we wanna make these cards - What's it gonna cost us.
The deal is negotiated between the 2 parties.
The NRL gives TCM the images, The NRL approves the product design - TCM go into production.

Years later - Yes, This has been going on since Late 2013/Early 2014 the Photographer pops up and says
- They're my photos, I want some money.....

From TCM's point of view, You would imagine when you are dealing with the governing body on Licensed product,
They're supplying you with License, Artwork and Details - Then approving it - That would be the be all and end all.
But no, Not with the NRL.

Kinda like buying a burger from Macca's and then a Farmer sending you a bill for the beef...

Yeah I'm not saying it wasn't a major stuff up, probably the NRL's fault, but I just don't think it's the NRL's responsibility to stump up the cash. The photographer deserves their money and has the right to set their fee, even if it is at a pretty outrageous rate!
