I guess we need to remember that kids are allowed to have fun collecting cards too.
We have known for the last few years that the Champions release is aimed at a younger market so I'm not sure why anyone was expecting gold nuggets to drop from the sky on this one.
For the serious collector, series two is where the major hits are - again, as has been the case over the last few years.
That said, I am really looking forward to series 2 - the Game-breaker signatures and the addition of a signature card to the Premiership redemption set were steps in the right direction last year.
Anyway, isn't that what the tax cheque is for?

No doubt Matt - but a major retail release should at least attempt to have something for everyone. Would a 1:72 or a 1:144 really be that hard??

Typical of Select, flat on their arses before the pre season comp has even started.
All of it will be readily available at discount rates by August anyway......sigh.....if i can even be bothered.
More money in my pocket and less in Selects, so perhaps i'm looking at this the wrong way?

well said. I will be saving my money again on series 1. I haven't bought any series 1 since the 2011.
how pathetic are select. a draft rookie set would have got me to buy some. shame select shame.
